It’s already been a month since ATCE! We had a lot of fun hosting and celebrating the next generation of engineers. Here are a few of our highlights. A big thank you again to our sponsors Oxy, Chevron, and ExxonMobil for supporting us! Also, special thanks to all of our volunteers, speakers, and participants who made each event so special! See you in Dallas!

The SPE International page for Student & YPs, including activities by the YP Committee & Student Development Committee
About us
SPE International has two global committees to support young members’ development. These include the Student Development Committee and the Young Professionals Committee. Both work on programs and initiatives to help develop young members of SPE, including university students and young professionals (under the age of 35). The activities aim to develop technical and leadership skills, providing both peer groups with guidance and support to facilitate their career progression. An important focus is placed on developing activities which aid in the transition from student to young professional (YP). Innovation is at the forefront and the committee makes recommendations to the Board as necessary to ensure young member programs have a continuous improvement strategy in place. The committees also places an emphasis on communication by using various platforms and creative delivery methods to facilitate technical knowledge sharing among young members. Activities to improve industry image, encourage networking between young members and industry, and to attract young people to the industry are also supported.

𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 episode 5, “𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲” featuring a good conversation between Maya, Scott and I is now live on PBS! 🎥 Link is in the comments. Hosted by Professor Scott W. Tinker, PhD, this episode dives deep into energy and climate debates, showcasing the perspectives of young professionals in the industry and how different countries prioritize their energy needs. Despite the ongoing anti-fossil fuel campaigns, #Oil and #Gas still provide over 50% of the world’s energy, highlighting the continued importance of hydrocarbons. This episode underscores the crucial role of #scientists, #engineers, and #geologists in our sector. We need more young minds to join us in driving innovation and sustainability! A huge thank you to the Switch Energy Alliance team for this incredible opportunity and to Professor Scott Tinker, whose work continues to inspire my efforts with the STEM Ambassadors at Harbour Energy and the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. Let’s energize the world together! 🌍✨ #EnergySwitch #OilandGas #STEMAmbassador #HarbourEnergy #EnergyIndustry #ClimateDebate #SwitchOn
