Today we announced a sponsored research agreement with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to advance pre-clinical development of our ligand to the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic, or theranostic, molecule. Theranostic molecules are suitable for diagnosis and therapy of cancers. From a clinical perspective, PSMA is a valuable target for diagnosis and therapy of prostate cancer. In a discovery project to develop a novel, boron-containing PSMA ligand to enhance proton radiation therapy of prostate cancer, we discovered PSMA-B, a molecule containing boron and demonstrating nanomolar binding activity to PSMA. Preclinical evaluations have been initiated to explore the PSMA-B ligand as a potential prostate cancer sensitizer in combination with proton therapy, as well as a PET diagnostic reagent and as a targeted prostate cancer therapeutic. The agreement with UCSF will support further preclinical testing in a mouse model of prostate cancer for its potential to bind to prostate cancer deposits in mice. Shuttle Pharma has an exclusive license to the PSMA-B intellectual property and has filed a patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office. We are excited to partner with UNC Medical Center as a trial site for our Phase 2 clinical trial of Ropidoxuridine for the treatment of patients with glioblastoma. UNC Medical Center is one of six cancer centers conducting the clinical trials. The Phase 2 clinical trial is being conducted on the most aggressive brain tumors out there – IDH wild-type, methylation negative glioblastoma patients. This cohort of patients currently only have radiation as the standard of care.   Our lead drug candidate, Ropidoxuridine, was developed to sensitize growing cancer cells, rendering them susceptible to the effects of radiation therapy and activate the DNA damage response pathway to kill cancer cells and protect adjacent normal cells. Michael Vander Hoek serves as the Shuttle’s Vice President, Regulatory, a position he has held since 2019, and previously he served as the Company’s CFO from August 2019 to August 2024. Michael has dedicated his career to advancing cancer research and treatment, bringing more than 30 years of experience to his role at Shuttle Pharmaceuticals. During his previous tenure at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC), Michael oversaw the integration of clinical trial management systems, spearheaded recruitment strategies to enhance cancer research capabilities, and managed significant institutional investments supporting innovative work in oncology. His impact extends beyond LCCC, with a proven track record of driving financial and operational excellence in roles at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Critical Care America, and Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp). Today we announced first patient enrollment and dosing at the UVA Cancer Center in our Phase 2 Clinical Trial of Ropidoxuridine for the treatment of patients with glioblastoma. UVA is one of six cancer centers conducting the clinical trials. The Phase 2 clinical trial will be conducted on the most aggressive brain tumors out there – IDH wild-type, methylation negative glioblastoma patients. This cohort of patients currently only have radiation as the standard of care, with more than half of the patients surviving for less than 12 months after diagnosis. Ropidoxuridine (IPdR) is Shuttle Pharma's lead candidate radiation sensitizer for use in combination with RT to treat glioblastoma, a deadly malignancy of the brain with no known cure. Shuttle Pharma previously received Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA, providing potential marketing exclusivity upon first FDA approval for treatment of the disease. We recently provided a corporate update on our third quarter activities. Highlights included: *Successful dosing of first three patients in the Phase 2 clinical trial of Ropidoxuridine for the treatment of patients with glioblastoma. *Finalized agreements with all six planned site enrollment locations which will be administering the Phase 2 clinical trial. Locations include Georgetown University Medical Center, UNC Medical Center, UVA Cancer Center, John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Cancer Institute, and Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida. Beyond these critical clinical developments, we also made progress in improving our balance sheet and funding the Phase 2 clinical trial.
