Why does Shadow Careers' logo have a heart in it? The Shadow Careers heart is made up of two thumbprints. On the left, you can see a fingerprint that represents Shadow Careers and the mark we hope to leave on our students. We put our fingerprint on the tree of prosperity to represent our support, encouragement, and commitment to assisting our students in successfully completing the 12-week Shadow programme. The fingerprint on the right represents the Shadow Careers students after they graduate. They have pledged to Shadow Careers and future students that they will go out and do their best in their new roles to create more jobs, and to allow more unemployed youth to benefit from the Shadow Careers programme and start a permanent career. #shadowcareers #careercreators #connectionthroughheart #jobcreation #youthemployment #ImpactSourcing #youthempowerment #careers #innovation #bpo #GBS #southafrica #capetown #durban Franco Cotumaccio Noel Carbutt Adjoa Ayivor - CA(SA), MBA Nate Jacobs

𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 🌟 As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect with immense pride and gratitude on the incredible milestones achieved this year. 📣 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸! 🌟 This year has been nothing short of extraordinary, filled with amazing milestones achieved for youth empowerment. It brings us immense joy to see how we continue to activate the potential of determined young individuals who are building brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. The ripple effect of this impact on society is truly remarkable. We are incredibly proud to share one of our most significant achievements: the launch of our 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 earlier this week! To put this into context, through these 100 classes, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵. Research shows that every permanent job supports a household of five to seven people, meaning the work we’ve done has 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. This incredible journey highlights how impactful sustainable employment can be - not just for individuals but for entire communities. We are incredibly proud of every Shadow student who has graduated and built successful careers, while also paving the way for others by creating new opportunities. Their achievements, combined with the unwavering dedication of our Shadow Careers team, are what make milestones like this possible. A heartfelt thank you to our like-hearted partners who have walked this journey with us. Thank you, Régis Haslé, for your heartfelt post and for recognising the impact of Shadow Careers. 🌟 Our mission is to break barriers and create meaningful, permanent employment opportunities for excluded youth, empowering them to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and communities. Through our 12-week programme, we not only equip participants with industry-specific skills but also help them build self-confidence, self-awareness, and a strong work ethic - unlocking their potential to thrive in the global business services industry. We’re deeply grateful to our like-hearted partners who share our vision of sustainable change and to supporters like you who help amplify our impact. It’s stories like these that inspire us to continue shaping a more inclusive and empowered future for young people across South Africa. 💙 #ImpactSourcing #YouthEmpowerment #ShadowCareers #FutureReady #SAYouth Franco Cotumaccio Noel Carbutt Adjoa Ayivor - CA(SA), MBA Nate Jacobs
Not everyone is born into an environment where work ethic, self-confidence and the skills for success in studies and a first job is instilled from a young age. The odds are especially against some young people from townships in South Africa, where unemployment rates often exceed 50% This week, I had the privilege of visiting Shadow Careers (https://shadowcareers.co/), an NGO in Cape Town, South Africa dedicated to helping young people from underprivileged communities acquire the soft skills needed to thrive in the customer support industry—a booming sector in South Africa. As part of their 12-week program, young people, selected based on their behaviors and values, not only learn the skills required to become a customer support agent but also embark on a journey of self-discovery, building self-awareness and self-confidence along the way. This program is truly a game changer for young individuals who otherwise struggle to find employment. I was deeply impressed and touched by how grateful these participants are for the opportunities Shadow Careers provides. A huge shoutout to the Shadow Careers leadership team (Adjoa Ayivor - CA(SA), MBA) for their dedication, and to Telus, our customer support partner, for supporting this impactful initiative.
