#GlobalEvents | A couple of weeks ago, RWC & Mutual Empathy were fortunate to participate at #COP16 in Cali, Colombia #PazConLaNaturaleza - Peace with Nature. We had the opportunity to host and participate in 3 events, showcasing our commitment to nature-based solutions, biodiversity strategies, and impactful environmental projects. On Monday October 28th, Alejandro Calderon, CEO of Mutual Empathy and Co-founder of RWC set the stage at an event at the Banco de Bogota hosted by Mónica A. Altamirano de Jong, PhD showcasing the evolution in impact investing, nature conservation, nature based solutions and bioregional regeneration.  By presenting the Jaguara Amazon Biome Outcomes Fund, he exemplified the progress we are making towards regenerative financial systems. On Tuesday, October 29th, RWC, Mutual Empathy and Morgan Stanley shared ideas around Sustainable Investment Management and Nature Conservation at a memorable event at The Club Campestre Farallones in Cali. This event was dedicated to showcasing the importance of impact investment today and introducing various opportunities within RWC's portfolio, such as the Selvazul Bioeconomy Fund and the Jaguara Amazon Biome Outcomes Fund, focused on conservation and collaboration with strategic partners. The event featured a distinguished panel of experts such as Juliana Granados, Francisco von Hildebrand, Marie-Sophie Teyssier, Koos Biesmeijer, Miguel Torres Uribe, Laura Romero Alzate, Lina María Cuervo, Julio Andrés Rozo - Restauración y Biodiversidad who all shared invaluable insights on sustainable investing, conservation and biodiversity. We thank the organizations they represent as well as others that brought valuable perspectives to the event: A special thank you to Johan S. Agredo, CIMA® and the companies that participated Gaia Amazonas Foundation, Amazonía Emprende, NatureRe Capital AG, Awake, Naturalis Biodiversity Center, WWF Colombia. 👏 Let's continue working together for a sustainable tomorrow!

🌍 In the middle of a planetary crisis, together with ALTAMIRA & NetworkNature EU we joined COP 16 in Cali, Colombia, to discuss how to drive a profound shift towards a regenerative economy. 🔄 As public resources dwindle, it is critical to rethink our investments to enable us to leapfrog to a more sustainable future. Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) are key in this process, and we will present pioneering cases of financing that are already making a difference. The RWC team had an incredible time at Climate Week in New York, where we engaged in meaningful discussions and collaborations around sustainability and climate action. It was an exciting week filled with impactful sessions and valuable connections, and we are eager to share the key takeaways with our community. The week started strong at Clinton Global Initiative, where philanthropy meets science, education and capital. The message from speakers, Jane Goodall and Jose Andres, inspirationally presented how the solutions to the world’s greatest issues can be solved by scaling up simple solutions.  Listening to Albert Douer introduce UBQ Materials’ unique technology to deal with waste was inspiring. Our Venture Studio Mutual Empathy received a welcome showcase and we were able to collect two Commitments to Action for thematics we are currently working around solutions for Energy Transition ValueSkies Holdings SAS and empowering indigenous communities through Cultural Heritage and Artisanal Tourism. Check out what we are achieving in the regenerative tourism space with Salva. At the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Meeting centered on “Where Innovation and Natural Capital Meet”, it became clear that innovation is rapidly reshaping how we engage with nature. Entrepreneurs worldwide are pioneering solutions that combine cutting-edge technologies with human capital development to create sustainable systems. However, systemic change is still essential for nature-positive initiatives to compete with those reliant on nature's depletion. Reforms such as adjusting subsidies and implementing natural capital accounting are critical to leveling the playing field. Achieving the scale and speed necessary for these innovations requires multi-stakeholder collaboration to drive meaningful and lasting transformation. Thank you to Allison Voss for inviting us and releasing the “Investing in Natural Capital” report at the event and to UpLink - World Economic Forum for hosting an incredible event. We would also like to express our gratitude to Johan S. Agredo, CIMA®, Juliana Granados and The Patagonia Group at Morgan Stanley for hosting us at a round-table with Family Offices and Institutions at the forefront of global impact like WWF Colombia and Gaia Amazonas Foundation. The morning featured interesting discussions around connecting large financial institutions and private capital to benefit local and impactful solutions around empowering indigenous communities. This was followed by an afternoon at the Bloomberg Sustainable Finance Summit where innovative mechanisms to direct institutional capital into real impact were presented, the key takeaway being climate action is an inherent fiduciary responsibility of capital allocators worldwide. We look forward to more impactful discussions at the COP16 in Cali, Colombia next week.
