The detention system is inherently abusive and plagued by egregiously poor conditions - and the Baker County Detention Center in #Florida is no exception. RFK Human Rights alongside ACLU of Florida and the Government Accountability Project filed a federal civil rights complaint exposing sexual abuse at the Baker County Detention Center that was corroborated by a new whistleblower, who is a former medical practitioner at the facility. The whistleblower has exposed dangerous abuses of people detained at Baker, including: 🔵 Staff falsifying medical records; 🔵 Denying dire medical care to those in need; 🔵 Racial and sexual harassment, and abuse; 🔵 Torturous solitary confinement, among other degrading conditions. Baker is a lawless center where predatory and sadistic behavior runs rampant. It’s time for U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stop torturing people and #ShutDownBaker for good. "Our future may lie beyond our vision, but it is not completely beyond our control. It is the shaping impulse of America that neither fate nor nature nor the irresistible tides of history, but the work of our own hands, matched to reason and principle, that will determine our destiny." - Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
