Here's a little bit about our backstory! 😍
Damn, I have lost quite a bit of hair 😂 ... I have something BIG to announce but let's try to pick up the "strands" first, 🔹 Graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (Civil Engineering) in 2011. Had two great offers in hand - a leading health-tech company in US and a leading oil and gas company in Dubai. 🔹 Serious health concerns in immediate family. Didn't take up either of the offers. Chose family and came back to Ludhiana, my home town. (In hindsight, best decision ever!) 🔹 Few friends from IIT were preparing for Civil services so they suggested the same to me. My first optional - Maths and the second (easier one 😬) - Psychology. Cleared Prelims and failed Mains by 3 marks! But found my love in Psychology. Picked up multiple MOOCs in Psychology. 🔹 Met Kunal Kala, a psychiatrist from the UK and was extremely driven to work in school mental health in India. He started up MindOn and I joined him. Super vision, wonderful product but market didn't think so! Startup pivoted and I left. Kunal is currently expanding MindPlus (Check him out, he is doing some wonderful work in OPD/IPD in mental healthcare) 🔹 Back to school. Applied for Indian School of Business and they loved my entrepreneurial spirit. Got accepted. Built and launched online counselling platform TickTalkTo one month before graduation! 🔹 A lot happened after that but the big shift was the pandemic. Everyone was talking about mental health. Being in the space for so long, I could feel this transition. I doubled down - built and launched SAAS psychological testing solution PsyPack for therapists. And that brings us to NOW. I am rolling up all that experience and wisdom in #mentalhealth and attempting to bring various stakeholders in the complex Indian ecosystem of mental health, together.
