ParentChild+ values family and caregiver voices at every level of our work, and we continue to expand the tools we are using to gather and share out their voices.      In 2023-24, we received survey responses from 344 ParentChild+ families and home-based child care staff. Parents and caregivers told us how they felt about the program and what they thought we could improve.    The results were exciting!    Participants told us they want MORE: a longer program, more frequent visits, or longer visits    Our biggest areas of impact? At this key stage of organizational growth, ParentChild+’s first Senior Manager, Government Affairs will lead, in collaboration with State Directors, external engagement with federal, state, and local elected officials and other stakeholders as well as the development of a comprehensive advocacy program, including a public funding agenda, to advance the mission of ParentChild+. At our Gala last week we were joined by over 185 champions of school readiness and early literacy. A recent Fast Company article paints a picture of the struggles faced by families seeking safe, quality care and the challenges of home-based child care providers trying to maintain good standing with confusing, and sometimes bureaucratic licensing authorities. ➕ ParentChild+’s HBCC model empowers family child care providers through professional development which increases their capacity to provide high quality care.
