Equal Possibilities From The Start
About us
ParentChild+ uses education to break the cycle of poverty for under-resourced families with young children. Through an international network of program sites, ParentChild+ works one-on-one with families and with family child care providers to ensure children achieve their greatest potential in school and in life. Our dual models enable the Program to blanket underserved communities with school readiness supports and reach families with children four and under who would otherwise not be ready for school. Highly trained early learning specialists engage families and FCC providers by modeling reading, conversation, and play activities. Through one-on-one visits to families and visits to providers and children in home-based care settings, ParentChild+ builds opportunities for the most vulnerable children and families. Since 1965, ParentChild+ has been assisting underserved communities in replicating and expanding these proven models, setting children on the road to school and life success and strengthening families, providers and communities. ParentChild+ values family and caregiver voices at every level of our work, and we continue to expand the tools we are using to gather and share out their voices. In 2023-24, we received survey responses from 344 ParentChild+ families and home-based child care staff. Parents and caregivers told us how they felt about the program and what they thought we could improve. The results were exciting! Participants told us they want MORE: a longer program, more frequent visits, or longer visits Our biggest areas of impact? Increased understanding of child development milestones and increased confidence in supporting children’s learning + activities. Give today to be a part of bringing more school readiness and early literacy supports to more families in 2025: https://lnkd.in/eY-NtPMq ➕ ➕ ➕ ➕ #ParentChildPlus #NonProfit #CommunitySupport #NetPromoterScore #ParticipantVoice

Together, we celebrated the work ParentChild+ has been doing for 59 years, looked ahead to our 60th anniversary, and exceeded our fundraising goal! ➕ As our CEO Sarah Walzer said in her remarks: ➕ As we embark on our 60th year, in a time of some uncertainty, we know what needs to be done. Together, we will create a world of possibilities where dreams can come true. ➕ If you would like to support our work as we move into our 60th year, you can still make a contribution here: https://lnkd.in/eFsDn_4r ➕ ➕ ➕ ➕ #ParentChildPlus #NonProfit #CommunitySupport Rising Ground

ParentChild+ was founded in 1965 with love and equity at the forefront of all the work we do. Each day, we lean into the culturally rich, diverse, and amazing communities in which we work, finding strength, guidance, and collective purpose. We celebrate the families, caregivers, and staff working with the children they love. Together, we will create a world of possibilities where dreams can come true. Sixty years into doing this work, ParentChild+’s commitment to possibility remains unchanged. ➕ ParentChild+ is dedicated to deepening and expanding local partnerships in all the communities where we work to ensure that all children regardless of their race, socio-economic status, or zip code have equal possibilities from the start. This charge remains true regardless of election results. ➕ While we are uncertain what the coming days will bring, we remain undeterred. Our work is more important now than maybe ever in our history. Our promise to families, children, and communities is unshakeable and we will keep striving to fulfill it. ParentChild+’s founder, Phyllis Levenstein, believed that the strength of our relationships with each other is the foundation for our shared futures, and so with strength and resolve, we will move forward together to a more equitable future rooted in love and respect for all. ➕ In Solidarity, Sarah Walzer ➕ To learn more about our work, visit our website at the link in our bio. ➕ #ParentChildPlus #Election2024

A recent Fast Company article paints a picture of the struggles faced by families seeking safe, quality care and the challenges of home-based child care providers trying to maintain good standing with confusing, and sometimes bureaucratic licensing authorities. ➕ ParentChild+’s HBCC model empowers family child care providers through professional development which increases their capacity to provide high quality care. The hands-on technical assistance we offer providers dispels the narrative that a home-based day care is simply babysitting and not as valuable as child care centers. ➕ Changing this narrative one provider at a time is a step to transforming how home-based child care providers are viewed, which can lead to more supportive regulations geared towards creating more home-based day care spaces. ➕ We are all in on working with Home Grown to improve access to and quality supports for home-based child care. ➕ https://lnkd.in/dkP96tYu ➕ ➕ ➕ ➕ #ChildCare #QualityEarlyLearning #ParentChildPlus
