We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals from all around the world to join our global initiative in promoting Open Educational Resources (OER) aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). How to Apply: 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬: We invite applications for the development of new and original OERs, updates to existing OERs, or the creation of auxiliary materials (such as slides, quizzes, video lectures, etc.). We also welcome applications for the translation of existing OERs into new languages to increase their global accessibility. OE4BW Strategic Meeting 2024: Advancing Open Education with #AI On October 9th -10th 2024, the #OE4BW gathered hub coordinators, education and AI experts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to explore how AI can advance #OpenEducation, making it more accessible and equitable. 📚 Key highlights: - Prof. Wayne Holmes from UCL and IRCAI shared insights on the opportunities and challenges of using AI tools in open education. 📱 - Joost Groot Kormelink (TU Delft) and Ajita Deshmukh (MIT ADT University) discussed OER’s impact on higher education, particularly in underdeveloped regions. 📖 - The Green Button Journey project, a mobile app developed by young creators from Hub Youth, showcased how tech can drive environmental awareness in education. 🌳 The participants agreed to expand the global network of OER developers and introduce more capacity-building workshops to further promote open education worldwide. 💡 👉 Stay tuned for upcoming events in November: - The OE4BW Open Call for new OER developers will be launched in the beginning of November 2024 - The OE4BW Eduscope 2024 will take place online at the end of November 2024 (the exact dates will be announced soon). We are glad that in the 2023/24 year, we received a total of 70 project applications from 92 developers, including some collaborative group efforts. Additionally, we received 87 applications from mentors eager to contribute their expertise. This year, our projects are categorized into nine distinct hubs, each focusing on specific topics. The collaborative efforts will be organized under the following hubs: Hub Education 1, Hub Education 2, Hub Sustainability 1, Hub Sustainability 2, Hub Health and Well-being, Hub Artificial Intelligence, Hub Displaced Persons, Hub Renewable Energy, Hub Youth.
