Solving problems in an interconnected world
About us
The Network Science Institute (NetSI) at NU, founded in 2014, has emerged as a world leader in a multi-disciplinary research community in the field of network science. NetSI brings together expertise from diverse disciplines, from the physical, information, and social sciences, aiming to build and expand common methodology and theory of networks, and to apply these tools to important societal challenges. We work on discovering fundamentally new ways to measure, model, and visualize complex systems. Our research investigates the fundamental nature of networks as well as their applications in systems found in biological, social, technical, informational, and spatial structures.

The data and analytics company #Clarivate released its annual list of Highly Cited Researcher 2024 and the Network Science Institute is well represented with two researchers - Albert-Laszlo Barabasi and Alessandro Vespignani! The list highlights the small number of researchers whose papers rank in the top 1% by citation in the Web of Science, Clarivate’s collection of journal citations, in the past decade. It also takes into account the diversity of research fields in which an author’s work has been cited. Congratulations to Professors Barabási and Vespignani, as well as all the other winners on this important recognition. https://lnkd.in/g2VPH5Jf
