A message from NAFA's Legislative & Adocacy arm: "A vital U.S. economy and the well-being of Americans relies on fleets. Fleets deliver critical public services like police, fire and emergency response, trash pickup, road clearing and maintenance, the U.S. mail, public transit and the school buses that ferry our children to school. Private fleets move the goods and services we rely on every day, making sure stores are stocked, power lines are repaired, and packages are delivered. To achieve this, fleets use every type of vehicle imaginable, from passenger vehicles to tractor trailers and road graders. Twenty-five percent of all vehicles on the roads are in fleets, and fleets account for 20% of all new vehicle sales, supporting car, truck and specialty vehicle producers and their manufacturing supply chains. Fleets move some $10 trillion of goods and contribute $800 billion to the US economy every year. Fleet services keep America moving. Fleets are also improving their efficiency and reducing their environmental footprint while delivering these essential services. They employ a variety of low impact fuels including renewable diesel from waste products, renewable natural gas from landfills, hydrogen and electricity. They employ idling reduction technologies and advanced emissions controls, and even use AI to optimize routes. NAFA is the voice for the nation’s fleet managers. NAFA ensures policy makers understand the critical role of fleets, our accomplishments and ongoing goals, and works with them to craft policies that help fleets continue on this journey. NAFA looks forward to working with the new Administration, Congress and the States to advance our work to enhance Americans’ lives every day."
