How do FHE and Garbled Circuits compare?
About us
Gateway is a decentralized protocol for creating, consuming, and displaying verifiable credentials to serve as a basis for an interconnected web and portable reputation. This is why we are building Gateway, a decentralized credentialing protocol for organizations/applications and individuals to issue, receive, and consume verified credentials. Applications and individuals using Gateway can natively issue custom credentials based on whatever parameters they decide - whether it be on their application, off-chain from sources like Twitter, or even based on on-chain conditions. Others can then consume this information to build more custom credentials, scoring models, or access points. Now teams will be able to build more context around their community members, customers, and even employees. This will lead to a better experience on dApps, more meritocracy in core functions like governance and hiring, and hundreds of applications we at Gateway have not even thought of yet.

Is privacy possible in this digital age or is this just a mirage? For too long data has been extracted and exploited causing consumers to be the product of the data economy. Gateway is flipping the script and upending this paradigm by returning control of private data to its' rightful owners. If you are building apps that hold consumer data, let's talk!

The Economist writes about the urgent need for more training data for LLMs. They are chewing through the public data quickly and will be looking for private data next. This is the new economy that Gateway powers. Gateway Protocol stores private data securely, and allows for private compute to occur on the data without ever revealing or sharing the data. LLMs are flush with cash and looking for large stores of private data. Gateway connects these worlds in a seamless way. Get ready!

We exist to give sensitive/private data utility. We breathe, eat, bleed for this! Here’s how: The GVM serves as the foundation for enabling secure, verifiable, and private computation. Key features of the GVM include: •Turing Completeness: The GVM can compute any algorithm, making it infinitely flexible and adaptable to various computational needs. •End-to-End Encrypted Compute: Utilizing garbled circuits as a hyper-performant cryptographic CPU, the GVM performs calculations on encrypted data without decryption, ensuring data remains protected throughout the entire computation process. •Verifiable Compute: All computations performed by the GVM are verifiable through zk SNARKS, allowing parties to confirm the correctness of results without revealing the underlying data.

Trading in the age of algorithms is all about data. You need good data fast, or you will lose your edge. This is true for retail and for institutional traders. The problem is data. Everyone has public data, but it is private data that holds the value. How can you access private data in a way that does not diminish its value and retain its private nature? Gateway’s Decentralized Private Computer was built to let computers work on encrypted data without needing to unlock it. This could transform finance by giving AI the ability to offer insights on private trading data while keeping sensitive market information secure. With Gateway’s Privacy First Compute, financial firms can analyze market data without exposing it, generate secure trading strategies, and confidently optimize their portfolios using encrypted data. They can run highly confidential models on data sets that today remain locked away and unusable. And this data can be used to train and improve existing models. It also allows for secure order execution and confidential risk management. Hedge funds can assess their performance privately without giving away any proprietary details. Gateway’s Privacy First Compute isn’t just about security – it also boosts performance. It helps financial firms make faster, better decisions that can lead to real gains for their portfolios. By incorporating Gateway’s Privacy First Compute into automated trading systems, financial institutions can fully harness AI in finance, while ensuring top-notch data privacy and security.

Being able to use private data without it ever being revealed or transferred is a huge innovation. Here we have a demo of a customer applying for health insurance without ever having to transfer all her health records. This innovation unlocks a world of use cases where the user stays in control of their data at all times. Now more than ever users need privacy controls and ways to hold their private data without compromise. This is what we are building at Gateway.

Today the team is proud to announce the release of Encrypted Data Vaults. Encrypted Data Vaults: The Core of Data Privacy Let’s break it down. When you sign up with a partner application, Gateway creates a Decentralized Identifier (”DID”) just for you. This isn’t your usual account login. This is your unique digital fingerprint, one that Gateway uses to create an EDV just for you. All of your data can be trustlessly and securely stored in this EDV. And it stays there, locked away, unless you decide otherwise. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gWBmx49k
