MVP is a software company leading a new age of data-driven omnichannel measurement and valuation.

About us

Our software helps brands, properties, and agencies accurately quantify the value of partnerships, sponsorships, and activations with an integrated and cohesive omnichannel view that includes broadcast, streaming, social, digital, audio, in-venue, and on location. We are a unique software platform designed to integrate with existing people processes or systems to help automate a service-heavy industry and start driving more efficient and impactful solutions. We’re fortunate to have a roster full of trusted partners from all areas of business that rely on our platform to provide accurate, unbiased data to help them evaluate strategic marketing initiatives. Raise your hand if you’re tired of hearing about or defending “proprietary metrics”. We are too. So we’re ditching ours and shifting to a transparent methodology that shows each input used to formulate value. Our solution provides comprehensive performance analysis and valuation at both the individual partner or portfolio level, including assessing branded and unbranded content, attributable audiences, broadcast presence, and activations (digital and experiential). Like many who are looking to answer the ROI question, we're fatigued by the lack of evolution in the measurement space. In response to that call for improvement, we're stepping in as the solution that isn't afraid to dive deep into the details to ensure we're delivering the most efficient omnichannel approach.

As the Emirates NBA Cup Finals tip-off tonight, we are looking back to our work contemplating a minor shift by the National Basketball Association (NBA) that has seen major results. The previous Emirates patch position on the sleeve and chest of the referees in the 2024 NBA Finals ultimately received no exposure for 59.5% of NBA game time as found in our whitespace analysis. This subtle shift to the chest and lower back of the referees has shown approximately a 5x and 1.5x in exposure duration and value generated, respectively, showing how the league continues to innovate in an era of growing apparel, player, and referee positions. #data #analytics #jerseypatch #measurement #valuation #MVPIndex

Three cars, three opportunities to win. For the team, for sponsors, for the fans. How is your commercial rights strategy in 2025 seeking to put your partners in a position to capitalize on your success?

I find it crazy that in 2024 we are still talking about exposure time risk mitigation as a revolutionary commercial rights strategy, but I will say I love to see this in motorsports. Right behind my greatest industry pet peeve of baseball assets being sold in half-innings, the driver-specific sponsorship approach has often forced brands to put their eggs in a single basket in favor of appeasing drivers who bring big checks through personal and family relationships. Even then, aside from the risk mitigation against a crash or DNF, imagine what a one-two-three finish could do for Castrol. It would harken back to the Ford Le Man finish in 1966. Find opportunities to create value for your partners in big moments. Create sponsorship positions that help your partners win when you win. Do more of this in 2025!

With the start of the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) seasons, I've seen a few articles around the state of jersey patches in pro sports and if they are "worth it.' Factors like exposures, media values, and how a brand is using the asset to help tell a larger partnership story are tables stakes at this point (and if you're not optimizing these types of things, you should be!) But that's only part of the equation. The underlying questions are really about how those factors add up compared against the alternative for how those dollars would have otherwise been spent. Can a brand take a jersey patch investment + what’s needed to properly activate against it and do something "better" to achieve their goals? What’s the value/investment trade off with other potential sponsorship assets? In a world where traditional sponsorship inventory is trending towards programmatic, how do jersey patch exposures - accurately and transparently - compare against media buys with the proper sponsorship nuances baked in? Are the performance metrics a brand receives simply numbers in a chart or on a spreadsheet, or is there a deeper understanding for what those numbers really mean beyond dollars and cents on a page? Contextual objective setting, contextual execution, and contextual measurement is really what it's about. At MVP we are encouraging our clients to think about and ask these questions. Sponsorship should be playing a more active role in the overall marketing mix. Only then can the industry better understand if jersey patch investments are "worth it." #sponsorship #partnerships #sportsmarketing #meausrement #media #sportsbiz
