Changing What's Possible
About us
MUSC Children’s Health is changing what’s possible for children and their families by providing the pediatric clinical and research expertise every child deserves. From promoting healthy lifestyles to offering life-saving treatments, MUSC Children’s Health delivers comprehensive and compassionate care to children throughout South Carolina and beyond in more than 27 specialty areas. MUSC’s integrated children’s health care system consists of the 250-bed MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (SJCH) and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion located on the Charleston peninsula, which is one of the most patient and family centered and technologically advanced hospitals for children and their families in the United States; the Charles P. Darby Research Institute where pediatric research teams conduct significant and ongoing efforts; the R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston which offers an ambulatory care clinic and surgery center, specialty care and after hours clinics; and finally, expanded depth and breadth of expertise in multiple locations throughout the state, offering primary, urgent and specialty care in person or via telehealth. To provide the best care for children now and in the future, MUSC Children’s Health puts the needs of patients and their families first. This intentional way of moving forward aligns with the emerging national best practice of offering children’s ambulatory and specialty services within local communities and delivery of more acute care at a major flagship hospital. As a result, families receive the best combination of high quality, lower cost and easily accessible care as possible. "Amber became our family’s trusted support in the NICU. Every time she started her shift, we felt at ease, knowing she was there to care for our son and for us." Amber Warner’s recognition as the August 2024 DAISY Award winner is a testament to her commitment to both patient and family-centered care. Amber went above and beyond as a member of the MUSC Children's Health care team—advocating for her patient, communicating with his family, and providing thoughtful support at every turn. Congratulations, Amber, and thank you for making a meaningful difference in your role. #DAISYAward #NursingExcellence #PatientCare #MUSCHealth #NICUNurse Thanks to The DAISY Foundation for making this recognition possible!

The holiday season is around the corner, and so is a cherished MUSC tradition—the lighting of the Angel Tree! 🎄This tree represents the spirit of giving and is part of The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Join us on Wed., Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital as we light the tree and kick off the season of generosity. The Salvation Army works to help parents provide gifts for their children by taking applications and creating wish lists for each "angel." You can "adopt" an angel and make their holiday brighter by purchasing toys, clothing, bikes and more. Angel tags with children's names and wish lists will be available at select locations across campus for employees, students and anyone who wants to participate. While MUSC is Charleston’s largest source of donations, you might spot angel tags in other spots too. ✨ #MUSCGiving #AngelTree The Salvation Army North & South Carolina Division
