Community Highlight: Fight2Feed Thanksgiving Volunteering at McCormick Place 👩🍳 Did you know that McCormick Place has an on-campus non-profit partner organization focused on food rescue? Fight2Feed is a local non-profit operated entirely by volunteers and housed in the McCormick Place East Kitchen since 2020. This Thanksgiving, Fight2Feed committed to preparing and serving over 2,000 hot Thanksgiving dinners to community members in need, and McCormick Place was honored participate. A group of McCormick Place and MPEA volunteers from a wide range of teams served in the kitchen Thanksgiving week, working on a wide variety of cooking projects, including: - 40 turkeys dressed for roasting - 110+ packages of mushrooms chopped for sautéing - 80+ pans of green bean casserole prepared - a pie-slicing assembly line! It's almost time for the Breakthrough T1D Gala at McCormick Place, so we thought we'd look back at some of our favorite moments from last year's event! 📸🥂 The 2023 gala (formerly called the JDRF gala) included silent and live auctions, dinner, drinks, amazing donations, and a closing-night performance in the Arie Crown Theater.
