Often times when I’m interviewing someone for a role at Little Spoon they ask what our company culture is like. I think our Spoonsgiving 🦃 tradition perfectly sums it up... Each year ahead of the holiday we make and host a full meal in the conference room at Little Spoon HQ. Everyone brings their favorite dish and it's one of our favorite company traditions. This years Spoonsgiving had it all: 🍽️ A full Thanksgiving meal somehow perfectly assembled despite the fact we only have a kitchenette in our NoHo office 🍗 An authentic Ronco Showtime Rotisserie ™️ (set it and forget it!) It's tradition we make and carve a rotisserie from scratch on our conference room table. 🥃 Hot Toddies made desk side 🧈 Turkeys carved out of butter 🍂 A stunning autumnal Sandra Lee inspired tablescape 🥧 A dessert table to rival your grandma’s Thankful each and every day for our team who works hard and has FUN every step of the way! And yes, our office will likely smell like rotisserie through the end of the year but we’d want it no other way. 💪Two months ago, we dropped the first of our BIG change commitments for parents across the US and made history as the first and ONLY baby food company in the country to have publicly available safety standards. As we rolled out public testing dashboards, European Union aligned testing limits and the promise that no product would be sold unless it met these standards we also promised you we were just getting started. 🗓️ Well today marks another major moment in BIG change for families: we’ve expanded our safety standards to hold our Biteables line to the same standards for 500+ toxins and contaminants including heavy metals, plasticisers and pesticides. 🤩 That’s right, the whole suite of Little Spoon offerings built for your growing baby are being voluntarily held to standards that align with the EU—not because we have to, but because it’s simply the peace of mind, transparency and trust-earning work that parents deserve. 🤝Little Spoon exists because we fundamentally believe that this generation of parents deserve better. Products made for busy lives that meet your standard, earn your trust and deliver on your greatest needs are simply what parents should expect from their food brands, and it’s our mission to continue to raise the bar and deliver. Our plans to continue to drive a fresh new standard are continuing, with so much more for families to come. We can’t wait to show you what we have coming next! 🔎 Learn more about our continued efforts towards our Little Spoon, Big Change initiative, how and where we source our ingredients and our safety standards here: https://lnkd.in/eGmqGcwc

  • Brooklyn Delhi first caught our eye for its beautiful, fresh packaging design and line up of clean, nutritious ingredients for every one of their products. Not to mention, everything we tried was delicious! Then we got to know Chitra Agrawal, Ben Garthus and their kiddos, and we quickly kicked off a dream collaboration. One year later, we are so excited to share our Limited Edition Plate with our friends at Brooklyn Dehli. Meet our NEW Sunny Butter Chicken, featuring an original Butter Simmer Sauce with sunflower seed butter instead of cashew butter for our allergen-friendly menu. This Plate will elevate your little one’s palate with a delicious take on a classic Indian comfort dish that’s packed with: 🍅 White meat chicken coated in an original Brooklyn Delhi tomato-based sauced featuring creamy coconut + sunflower seed butter  🧡 Vibrant veggie turmeric poppers  💪 13g of protein  ✔️ 6g of fiber We’re bringing the essence of India to your mini’s table and we can’t wait for you to get a taste! P.S. - for the customers who STILL miss our former Chicken Tikka Masala Plate, this dish is even more comforting and flavorful— make sure to get it while it lasts! https://lnkd.in/eH_tZYUv

  • 🎂We celebrated our 7th birthday last week and it’s hard to believe how fast our baby is growing up! Raising your little one takes a village and it turns out, the same goes for building Little Spoon. It would be simply impossible to do what we do without our passionate team, our loyal customers and the parenting community helping us to think big, raise the bar and deliver on the greatest needs for parents. Let’s reflect on all the milestones we’ve hit over the years ➡️ 2017: Little Spoon was born. We launched with only 10 Babyblends and even had our first official product photoshoot in a shower #startuplife. In just one year we sold over 1 million meals….it was clear we were onto something! 2018: HQ officially landed in New York City and we hired our very first employees—shout out Daniel Barber, Liz Gellene, and Caryn Wasser! The business exploded and our fast run turned into a full blown sprint (we haven’t slowed down since). 2019: We expanded our Babyblends offerings, building out a comprehensive starting solids portfolio. We launched our content platform, Is This Normal, a resource for all things parenting in the modern world. 2020: Our customers were stuck at home during Covid trying to balance it all through absolute mayhem, so we introduced our line of Plates almost a year early to support our community. They sold out 5x times. Angela Vranich and Ben Lewis donned hazmat suits and spent a lot of time FaceTiming our central kitchen. 😅 2021: Oh hello, Smoothies…our favorite HQ snack…and yours too! There’s nothing better than a sip of our Strawberry Banana Shake. 2022: We rapidly scaled our menu options, refreshed our brand look and feel, made the list of Inc. Magazine 5000’s fastest-growing private companies in the US and won Fast Company’s Brands That Matter award! 💥 2023: Our best year yet! We entered the year with the strongest team we’ve ever had and welcomed our golden child Biteables in the first 2 months (we then spent the rest of the year trying to keep up with demand). That fall, we time traveled back to the ‘90s and launched build-it-yourself Lunchers and Snacks, new go-tos for kids made with all of the nostalgia and none of the junk. 2024: There’s no better time to be a baby! We launched our organic, award-winning Puffs and Baby Cereal and made history becoming the first and only baby + toddler food company in the U.S. with public safety standards for 500+ toxins and contaminants. Our team has more than doubled in size…and the culture, sense of community and palpable energy at HQ has 10x-ed.  So, what’s next? We have 2 big announcements coming this week, so you’ll want to tune in as we head into year 8. As always, we’re just getting started 🚀

🥣 Our newest product drop (and perhaps most long awaited) is here! Meet our NEW Organic Oatmeal Baby Cereal! Baby cereal has long been a category ripe for innovation, particularly as the very first food introduced to a baby's diet. We believe trust should start from that very first bite. 👂 We’ve been listening closely to our community’s demand for safer, cleaner options for baby cereal, particularly in the wake of concerning headlines and coverage on the category. This year, we surveyed 2,000 American parents to learn that only 1 in 10 parents have a 'high degree' of trust in baby food brands. Parents deserve transparency and quality at every stage—and we're here to deliver. 💥 This launch has been years in the making as we knew it was critical to develop a product that met our standards for quality, safety and transparency. Our Organic Oatmeal Baby Cereal is the only organic, Clean Label Project Certified multigrain baby cereal with publicly available testing standards. 👩🔬 We test for 500+ heavy metals, pesticides, glyphosate and plasticizers—not just for our Baby Cereal, but for our Babyblends too. And don't worry, we've got more coming. Our new Organic Oatmeal Baby Cereal is made the Little Spoon way: 🚫Free from rice and the top 9 allergens. ⬆️Packed with 13 essential nutrients + 14g of whole grains, including ancient grains like barley and millet. 👶Just right for baby’s first food and the perfect partner to our Babyblends ✅Easy, breezy storage in a resealable bag See how we’re setting the bar for safety and nutrition from your little's very first bites and let us know what you think!  https://lnkd.in/eAbGcmKd

POV: You Learn How Little Spoon Reinvented Childhood Nutrition I recently went for a run with Angela Vranich, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Little Spoon, and walked away with some valuable insights. Here are my top four takeaways: Spotting the Gap: Angela identified an opportunity in the baby food market, realizing that while fresh, natural products were growing in other categories, baby and kids' food remained stagnant. Little Spoon was born from this gap, offering fresh options that parents can trust. Transparency Matters: Little Spoon is committed to transparency, testing for over 500 toxins and contaminants in their food. Angela emphasized that being open with customers builds trust and sets them apart in the industry. Community Engagement: From photo shoots featuring customers' babies to collaborations with brands like Graza and Oatly, Little Spoon keeps its community at the heart of what they do. It’s a reminder that staying close to your customers creates a lasting connection. Enjoy the Ride: Angela’s motto, "You can sleep when you’re dead. Just enjoy life," reflects her approach to work and life. It’s a great reminder to embrace the journey, even when you’re building something big. Running with Angela reinforced the importance of staying open to new ideas, putting your community first, and finding joy in the process. #RunningInterviewShow #MoveWithKate #LittleSpoon #ChildhoodNutrition #Running #CleanFood

📣 Today marks a historic day in baby food safety—not just for Little Spoon, but for the entire U.S. baby food industry. Shockingly, the United States has no federal regulation for heavy metals + chemical contaminants in baby food and no brand makes clear their safety standards. Parents trust is, unsurprisingly, at an all time low. We hear parents loud and clear: it’s time for BIG change, and Little Spoon is ready to bring a fresh new standard to baby food. 🙌 From this day forward, here's our promise: ✅ All of our Babyblends are tested for over 500 toxins + contaminants, including heavy metals.  ✅ Our publicly available safety standards are based on the European Union (EU)— we test for heavy metals, pesticides, glyphosate and plasticizers. ✅ Anyone visiting our site can view dashboards on each of our Babyblend pages to see the status of our testing and specific limits we test against. ✅ We are committed to never selling baby food product that does not fall at or below our rigorous testing limits. Period. ✅ We've tapped world-renowned experts in science + food safety to answer parents' questions on this overwhelming topic and advise us as we continue to ramp up our efforts. We are just getting started and we are listening. Transparency parents deserve is here. Check out all of the details on LittleSpoonBigChange.com and tell us what you think. #BabyFoodSafety #FoodTransparency #HeavyMetals #OrganicFood #HealthyBabyFood #BrandValues #BrandMission #Innovation

🚨 There have been lots of headlines recently about baby food – concerns about toxins and contaminants, mislabeling, poor nutritional value and more. These topics – and the need for serious change in the baby food aisle – are nothing new. In fact, they were some of the key motivators in starting Little Spoon. ➡️ We’ve always heard from parents about their anxiety when it comes to feeding their children. But our most recent consumer research has made it urgently clear: parents are worried, and trust in the industry is at an all time low. 🍏 Good nutrition should be a right, not a privilege, yet the bar for kids' food continues to remain maddeningly low in the US. Little Spoon is raising the bar. 🏆 Reinvention, with the promise of a brighter future, inspired Little Spoon’s founding mission. My amazing team spends every day focused on earning parents’ trust, while finding more ways to make their lives easier and kids healthier. ✨ 🤝 PS: If our mission gets you excited, we're always looking for smart, motivated people to join the team. We are growing quickly and have more than 8 open roles!
