This fall marked 20 years of feeding Kansas kids through the Food 4 Kids program! Did you know... it costs about $22 per month to provide one child with Food 4 kids food? Now through the end of the year, your gift goes TWICE as far, with our friends at Cargill matching all gifts made to the Food 4 Kids program! That means your $100 gift could help feed 9 kids for a month with the matching opportunity! Make a difference now: https://lnkd.in/dVpRNcUP

This fall, the Kansas Food Bank celebrated 40 years of serving our neighbors, a milestone that would not have been reached without the many, many hunger relief partners, volunteers, donors, and staff. As we reflect back on 40 years of innovation, like creating the Food 4 Kids program, Bob Boxes for seniors, mobile distributions and more, we know our work isn't done. Another day of feeding families, thanks to Arby's Foundation and Flynn Group! This morning, 45 of our friends from Arby's came to volunteer and helped sort over 5,600 pounds of potatoes into over 800 family-sized bags that will go out through our network of partner pantries. In addition to volunteering, they presented our Kansas Food Bank team with a wonderful gift of $10,500 for our Food 4 Kids program, which will help provide thousands of weekend packets of food for chronically hungry kids through the school year. Thank you to the entire Arby's team for your generosity, and helping us feed Kansas families through your efforts. Let's hear it for our Arby's Hunger Heroes! 👏💙

For 40 years, the Kansas Food Bank has provided missing meals and nourishment in the Wichita area and beyond. We could not be where we are today without the support of the local eateries and shops that share our passion for feeding our community. Today, we are extremely excited to announce an upcoming week-long event to celebrate the restaurants, coffee shops & breweries, specialty shops, food trucks and more that make Wichita so special, while helping feed our food insecure neighbors. ICT Restaurant Week presented by JRI Hospitality and Mokas will be held the last full week of Hunger Action Month from September 22nd - 28th, and we are looking for participants to add to our growing list! There is no cost up front for restaurants to join, each choosing the way they'd like to participate throughout the week such as: 👉 Matching round up donations made at the register 👉 Offering special deals or incentives for customers who donate 👉 Donating a percentage of their sales 👉 Creating a specialty menu item or featured drink Do you own or know of a restaurant, food truck, or food-related business that you'd like to see participate in ICT Restaurant Week? Learn more or sign up your restaurant to participate in the inaugural ICT Restaurant Week at ICTRW.com. Special thanks to our many wonderful partners who are helping make this event possible: INTRUST Bank, FUGATE ENTERPRISES, KAKE, Murfin Media, The Community VOICE, Wichita By EB and many more.

Today is an exciting day for the Kansas Food Bank, as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our Western Kansas Hub in Garden City. The expansion has been a long-time dream of ours, and it's incredibly exciting to see it come to fruition. The addition of the facility will increase food distribution in the 31 westernmost Kansas counties by 50% and double fresh produce distribution. This project would not have been made a reality without the generous support from our partners at Sunflower Foundation, The Sunderland Foundation, Kansas Health Foundation, Cargill, and more. We were honored to celebrate the day with City of Garden City, Kansas Mayor Manny Ortiz, Brad Cecil with Brad Cecil and Associates, Inc., Bruce Glass with The Architect LLC, Lee Construction Inc., and many, many more. Dillons has been a steadfast partner of the Kansas Food Bank for many years through their Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative. Last week, we were invited to join their grand reopening celebrations at the 47th & Broadway location in Wichita, and are incredibly excited to receive a $10,000 gift to our Food 4 Kids program. It was a wonderful day celebrating with Dillons team members, Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, Wichita Wind Surge, vendors and more! In addition to the gift, we collected 1,005 pounds of food through our first ever fresh food drive.
