  • IP House’s Andrew Masterson had the pleasure of attending a conference hosted by ACG - The Anti-Counterfeiting Group, Counterfeiting & Illicit Trade in the Digital Age, where #IntellectualProperty experts and industry leaders gathered for informative sessions addressing #IP and what we can do together to make a meaningful impact.   At the conference, IP House was recognized for our efforts with TRACIT, along with several brands, to better identify those forced into labor and modern-day slavery.   Looking ahead to the new year, we will continue seeking new ways to improve collaboration in our efforts to tackle #IPcrime.   #anticounterfeit #protectip

  • IP House’s Director of Intelligence and Investigations (LatAm) Edson Taro Nakajima received a warm welcome when he gave a lecture on "Digital Content Anti-Piracy Measures in Latin America," in Seoul, South Korea upon an invitation from the Copyright Overseas Promotion Association - COA.   Taro talked about the Latin American landscape for Korean & Japanese pirated content, such as Webtoon, K-Drama, Anime & Manga, covering demographics and statistics (age, gender & location of the audiences – traffic share per country), but most importantly, IP House’s views on effective measures to fight pirated content in the region.   The audience comprised representatives for all major Korean rightsholders, as well as representatives from CODA (Content Overseas Distribution Association) from Japan.   #antipiracy #contentprotection

  • IP House is proud to work alongside the U.S. Department of Justice in the recent conviction of the computer programmer of Jetflicks, one of biggest streaming sites in the world prior to its takedown. At its peak, Jetflicks claimed to stream more than 180,000 TV episodes, which is more than any legitimate licensed streaming service had available at that time. Jan van Voorn (IP House CEO) was an expert witness in this major copyright case and his testimony was a key factor in the successful prosecution of Yoany Vaillant who was the 8th and final defendant convicted in this case. Vaillant and his co-conspirators monitored the internet for infringing TV episodes using automated software and computer scripts. The infringing content was then distributed to tens of thousands of Jetflicks paid subscribers throughout the United States.   IP House provides AI-enabled monitoring and enforcement technology that delivers not only target prioritization but enforcement actions geared to interdict or fully disrupt major digital piracy operations, from movies & TV shows to music, book publishing, and software. • In 2024, Vietnam's #counterfeit goods market remains significant, driven by both digital and physical channels with a wide range of products being affected. The country has fast become a major hub for counterfeit production and global distribution, with the presence of local and Chinese organized crime groups complicating enforcement by employing sophisticated methods to avoid detection. The economic impact of counterfeits is huge and impacts both local and international business sectors as well as millions of dollars in tax revenues lost to the Vietnam government. The widespread availability of fake goods also harms brand reputation and poses severe health and safety risks to uninformed and unsuspecting consumers.   IP House has over a decade of experience working with law enforcement agencies in Vietnam and meeting with senior echelons of key government departments to share digital content and counterfeit market trends and intelligence resulting in successful criminal prosecutions. An insight into IP crimes in Vietnam would not be complete without an understanding of the organized criminal collusion in neighboring Cambodia and Laos. IP House has a network and resources in these neighboring countries and access to effective enforcement.   Contact us to learn more: 🔗www.ip-house.com/contact   #ProtectIP #IPenforcement #anticounterfeit
