We are delighted (@Bérengère Dréno) to extend an invitation to you for the webinar hosted by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) in collaboration with EUIPO, scheduled for Tuesday, 14 May at 09:00 CEST. The aim of this practical webinar is to provide an overview of the enforcement measures being implemented at EU level to protect intellectual property (IP) rights during the upcoming Olympic Games and the UEFA European Football Championship.   Webinar aimed at law enforcement officials (police, border police, customs), judiciary (prosecutors) working on the investigation/detection of counterfeit goods and piracy.

Our partner, Andriy Fortunenko, moderated a session at the XI Criminal Law and Procedure Conference hosted by Ukrainian Bar Association The session was dedicated to cross-border criminal investigations, as well as Interpol and extradition-related issues. Key topics discussed: ✔️ Can in absentia investigation and in absentia detention orders coexist? ✔️ Serving notices of suspicion through international legal assistance channels – at what point does a person acquire the status of a suspect? ✔️ Why do Ukrainian law enforcement agencies fail to use Interpol’s “blue notices” to locate individuals? ✔️ Recent trends in challenging “red notices” and extradition to Ukraine during the war.

In the Anti-counterfeiting and Online Brand Enforcement: Global Guide 2024, Alan Chiu, James Choi and Nicole Huo of ELLALAN take a deep dive into the Chinese authorities’ current approach to combatting counterfeit products. The combination of civil and criminal litigation, investigation and ex-officio enforcement at customs should improve options for rights holders and facilitate a more comprehensive protection system. For more than #10months I have been urging the International Criminal Court to take action against #Israel Since the day 1 of #genocide in #Gaza we have been pushing the #ICC and documenting #warcrimes along with #genocidal speeches coming from #Israel What I am really sad is that it didn’t help - there is no legal action at all Mr #KarimKhan - for #Putin you could issue the arrest warrant so fast - but for #Netanyahu and #Gallant somehow you cannot - even after 10 months of #genocide I start to really question the system of justice What about INTERPOL ? Why they are not on your list with the clear evidence in the commited war crimes, manufactured starvation and genocide ?
