The #ISSB was called on by the market and international policy makers to deliver an efficient reporting landscape, ending the alphabet soup of voluntary initiatives and meeting investor demand for decision-useful, comparable information. The ISSB remains committed to serving as an anchor in the sustainability disclosure landscape, working closely with partners around the world to drive efficiencies. We deliver this through: ⏫ Consolidation – of #SASB (SASB Standards), #TCFD, Climate Disclosure Standards Board #CDSB and Integrated Reporting materials. 🤝 Establishing the ISSB as the sister board of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) – making sure the ISSB Standards work especially well with the requirements of the #IASB, while useable alongside any generally accepted accounting principles. 🔗 Supporting connections – through tools such as the #IntegratedReporting Framework and the Management Commentary Practice Statement. ✔️ Interoperability – with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) #GRI, #ESRS and the US SEC. 📊 Through the ISSB Standard’s climate-related standard is becoming a basis for other initiatives – such as CDP, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB). ✳️ Driving harmonisation in the landscape – through a number of strategic relationships. Watch this video to find out more about the ISSB’s role. 👇 #ISSBStandards #IFRSSustainability

The #ISSB is delighted to round out the year with further jurisdictional progress towards the adoption or other use of ISSB Standards. In Canada, we welcome news that the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB) Board has released CSDS 1 and CSDS 2 that are aligned with our global baseline subject only to extended transition relief for some disclosures. In China, we also welcome the publication of the Basic Standard of “Corporate Sustainability Disclosure Standards” issued by nine ministries led by Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China. The Basic Standard is based on IFRS S1 and marks a step in the process to converge with ISSB Standards for the construction of a unified national sustainability disclosure standards system in China. In Hong Kong SAR, we welcome news that the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) of Certified Public Accountants has published HKFRS S1 and HKFRS S2, in full alignment with ISSB Standards. This follows the launch by the Hong Kong SAR Government of its roadmap on sustainability disclosure, requiring publicly accountable entities to apply the ISSB Standards, providing a pathway for them to fully apply the ISSB Standards no later than 2028. HKFRS S1 and HKFRS S2 can facilitate this reporting. In Indonesia, we welcome news that Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (Institute of Indonesian Chartered Accountants) has launched its roadmap for the adoption of sustainability disclosure standards that are based on IFRS S1 and IFRS S2. In Qatar, we are pleased to see the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) consultation on the proposed Corporate Sustainability Reporting framework introducing IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 in the Qatari regulatory framework. In Thailand, we have also been pleased to see the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand, launch its consultation on Thailand’s pathway towards the adoption of ISSB Standards. And in the UK, we welcome the UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee's recommendation to the Secretary of State for Business and Trade to endorse IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 for the creation of UK Sustainability Reporting Standards. We look forward to these jurisdictions progressing on the journey towards the adoption of ISSB Standards. 🌍 The #ISSB is delighted to welcome and support the International Organization of Securities Commissions - IOSCO's launch of its Growth and Emerging Markets (GEM) Committee Network for Adoption or Other Use of ISSB Standards. The announcement marks a significant step towards supporting the adoption or other use of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (#ISSB Standards) in jurisdictions represented in IOSCO's GEM Committee. An initial cohort of 31 member jurisdictions across BRICS and Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs), representing the majority of emerging market jurisdictions’ market capitalisation (90% of BRICS'), have joined the Network, with more expected in the coming months. Some have already announced their adoption plans, while others are considering early steps. Speaking at today’s launch event in Ankara, Türkiye, ISSB Chair Emmanuel Faber joined Chairman of the IOSCO Board, Jean-Paul Servais and Chairman of the GEM Committee and Vice-Chair of the IOSCO Board, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh to reflect on the critical role of this milestone for the continued development of sustainability-related reporting worldwide. 🤝 Thanking IOSCO for its continuous collaboration and support, Emmanuel Faber said: ‘We are delighted to see considerable interest from emerging markets jurisdictions towards adopting the ISSB’s global baseline of sustainability disclosures for capital markets.’ Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/erC9Dfys
