Congratulations to Kwena Kgaabi, Research Grants Coordinator at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, on achieving Research Administration Professional (RAP) status! 🎉   Here is his inspiring message: “I believe in hard work and that nothing comes easy in life. My mantra in life is in Sepedi which goes; “tloga tloga e tloga kgale, modiša wa Kgomo o tšwa natšo šakeng” which is loosely interpreted that we need to work hard to attain our set goals. As a young Research Grants Coordinator at the University of Pretoria, I am sincerely humbled and incredibly honoured to be recognised as a Research Administration Professional (RAP) status. I feel even more energised to serve the research community with the skills and expertise to the best of my ability in pursuit of the South Africa’s 2030 National Development Plan and its inherent goal of achieving an improved education, training, and innovation with a specific focus on the National System of Innovation (NSI) in the country. 🎉 Congratulations to Luiza Mazazire, Research Grants and Contracts Advisor at the Namibia University of Science and Technology, on being awarded Research Management Professional (RMP) status in November 2024! Luiza applied for recognition while serving as the Manager: Resource Mobilization and Grant Management at the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology in Namibia. This achievement also marks a milestone for the IPRC, with Luiza becoming the 70th professional to be awarded professional status. “My journey in research management began a decade ago at the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST).
