Towards supporting the underprivileged, creating opportunities, and striving towards a more equitable society.

About us

Since 1996, Infosys Foundation has been trying to make communities and individuals stand on their feet. From helping communities affected by natural disasters, constructing toilets and building libraries for village schools, providing succor to Devadasi women, to donating funds for cancer treatment, scientific research and mid-day meals – if there is a worthy cause in sight, the Foundation is always there to support it. We take great pride in working with all sections of society, selecting projects with infinite care, and working in areas that traditionally overlooked by society at large. With a focus on the most remote regions of India, our initiatives span the areas of education, healthcare, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability, amongst others.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to every sector, especially the healthcare sector. For Ramakrishna Sarada Mission’s Matri Bhavan, a charitable maternity hospital in Kolkata, the struggle to serve its community became harder than ever during this time. Matri Bhavan has been serving underserved families for decades, providing free or concessional care along with offering training programs in nursing and healthcare to marginalized women. When the pandemic hit, the hospital transformed itself into a partial COVID-19 facility, creating isolation wards, operating theaters, and labor rooms for maternity patients affected by the virus. However, Matri Bhavan found itself running out of resources to maintain operations. At that moment, #InfosysFoundation stepped in to lend a helping hand. The support ensured that Matri Bhavan could sustain its vital services and meet operating expenses. Community outreach programs like rural cancer care and urban slum medical camps were revived. The much-needed Assistant Nursing Training Program, which had empowered over 165 women, was restarted, offering a path to independence for many. For Matri Bhavan, this partnership enabled them to continue their life-changing work. For the Foundation, it reaffirmed our dedication to equitable healthcare and brighter futures for women and families. #InfosysCSR | #Healthcare | #WomenEmpowerment | #CommunitySupport

  • A full stomach is a powerful thing—it opens the door for young minds to learn, dream, and thrive. Yet, for many children, hunger interrupts their education. A recent UNICEF report reveals that over 80 million children drop out of school before completing eight years of education, with more than eight million never having the chance to enroll at all in India. This stark reality reminds us of the challenges we face. At #InfosysFoundation, we firmly believe that no child should be deprived of education because of hunger. To turn this vision into action, we partnered with Akshaya Patra, the world’s largest not-for-profit mid-day meal program, serving over 11,000 schools in 10 states of India. Through this collaboration, we’ve passionately worked to reduce malnutrition, improve school enrollment rates, and decrease dropout rates. Together, we have created sustainable kitchens, optimized facilities, and applied innovative technologies to serve more children nutritious meals, prepared with utmost care and cleanliness. For us, ensuring stomachs are full is only the beginning—our true goal is to keep minds curious for knowledge and hearts filled with hope. Teachers report improved focus and engagement among students, which nourishes our commitment to empower the scholars, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow. #InfosysCSR | #Education | #ChildHunger | #TalesOfHope

  • Healthcare is a fundamental right. On this Universal Health Coverage Day, we celebrate the collective steps taken by the government and private organizations to make equitable and affordable healthcare a reality for all. The Indian government’s Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is a monumental step forward, offering health coverage of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care. Covering 70 crore individuals, this initiative reduces financial strain and ensures access to essential medical services, particularly for the underprivileged. At #InfosysFoundation, we are proud to complement these efforts. Our initiative, C-CAMP-Infosys Foundation Project Early Life, enhances maternal and child health across Karnataka, impacting up to 50,000 pregnant women and over 4,000 newborns annually. The 100-bed Infant and Maternity Hospital we constructed has served over 12,000 patients, while the Vascular Access Center and the Hybrid Cath Lab we set up at the Institute of Nephro Urology, has reached over 1 lakh patients, transforming care with affordable, state-of-the-art facilities. Along with the government, the Foundation is dedicated to making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable to all. #InfosysCSR | #Healthcare | #UniversalHealthCoverage | #WomenEmpowerment

  • A seed of change, nurtured by volunteer spirit.   On this #WorldSoilDay and #InternationalVolunteerDay, we honor the extraordinary efforts of our Infoscions. By focusing on soil health, we can secure a sustainable future for generations to come.   In a remarkable display of collective action, our volunteers have made a significant impact: Collected over 1,000 kilograms of waste from lakes and beaches. Planted over 1,000 saplings. Created over 200,000 seed balls. • For decades, libraries have served as sanctuaries of learning. But what happens when their doors become physically inaccessible? The pandemic magnified this challenge, underscoring the need to make knowledge accessible to all. The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), home to one of India’s largest law libraries, rose to this challenge. They reimagined libraries as digital hubs, and had begun digitizing their entire collection of books, journals, and reports. Through this, they are building bridges—ensuring that knowledge reaches anyone, anywhere. Their commitment to inclusive education deeply resonated with #InfosysFoundation, leading us to join hands. Through initiatives like the Infosys Digital Scholarship, about a 100 students and researchers have access to invaluable digital resources. Alongside this, the Disability Access initiatives introduced essential tools like screen readers and speech-to-text solutions, empowering users of all abilities. These efforts are about opening doors and ensuring that no learner is left behind. Together with NLSIU, we are shaping a world where education is accessible to all, regardless of their economic background or physical abilities. #InfosysCSR | #Education | #Inclusivity | #EducationForAll#DigitalEquity | #RemoteLearning
