  • Wishing you a Merry Christmas! 🎄 Christmas is a wonderful day to celebrate joy, generosity, and the blessings of the year. ❤️ From the extraordinary Christmas Truce of 1914, when soldiers laid down their arms to share peace in the midst of ongoing trench warfare; to the Elf on the Shelf, where festive fun meets modern questions about surveillance; to an analysis of how markets rely on prices to make wish lists come true; enjoy these lesser known but truly delightful Christmas stories for your enjoyment. Plus, a brilliant piece on the "double thank you" of giving gifts that come from the heart. 🎁

  • Help us continue to show young adults the true character of Big Government! A lot of Gen Z and Millennials think socialism sounds good... "Free healthcare!" "Forgiven debts!" but the truth is, a socialist government is more of a dystopia than a utopia. We created Lov Gov, a satirical series, to show young Americans just how invasive Big Government can be. Because of our supporters, this initiative has increasingly turned Gen Z away from Big Government and toward liberty! Please consider supporting our work this holiday season by inspiring the next generation!

  • Despite a dramatic increase in government spending, it's no secret that homelessness has escalated to crisis levels in cities and towns across the country. The holidays are a common time to think about helping the homeless, but it’s important to remember that this crisis doesn’t suddenly stop when the holidays are over. Our mission, with our work supporting Beyond Homeless, is to address the root cause of homelessness, through individualized support that helps move people off the streets for good. Will you join us this holiday season in supporting Beyond Homeless? https://buff.ly/3D5fBdK

  • If you're a Californian, you've probably noticed how much more efficient a trip to the DMV has been in recent years. Back in the winter of 2018-2019, the California DMV was the winner of The California Golden Fleece® Award for Its Incompetence and Poor Customer Service. During our investigation, we found that residents were experiencing 5-6 hour wait times, employees sleeping on the job, criminal fraud that endangered public safety, and mismanaged services. Our recommendations included replacing leadership, reducing dependence on the DMV for services, and looking to the private sector for technological assistance and long-term replacements. Recently, The Sacramento Bee released an article highlighting improvements to some of these areas. California has added 300 DMV kiosks across the state, helping residents avoid trips to the DMV and long wait times. This has resulted in online transactions increasing by 44%. Satisfaction scores also grew to 4.25/5 instead of 2.5, like they were in 2018. This is a step in the right direction for efficiency in the California government!

  • October 2024 marked a troubling start to fiscal year 2025 for the U.S. government, with a $257 billion deficit—the second-worst ever for the first month of a fiscal year. While tax collections rose 37% compared to October 2020, federal spending was 12% higher than during the pandemic, when national lockdowns required emergency spending. In the absence of a crisis today, this raises critical questions about fiscal responsibility and the sustainability of current government spending. 🔗: https://lnkd.in/gMHYkvx8
