#LearnDiscoverExplore in Washington, DC. “For nearly four decades, the WACA National Conference has brought World Affairs Council leaders and members to engage with top government officials, diplomats, business executives, innovators, journalists, educators, and students on the most pressing global issues and policy choices that impact our lives. This annual event in Washington, DC, inspires diverse Councils from 90 communities to sustain the conversation on critical global issues and contribute to a stronger network and informed American public.” ~ World Affairs Councils of America (WACA)
The clock is ticking and the annual 2024 National Conference: World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) in DC is just next week. I’m looking forward to returning to our beautiful state capital and speaking during Leadership Day (11/20) on Engaging Diaspora Communities: “The “Engaging Diaspora Communities” session, led by two Council Spotlight Breakout Winners from Harrisburg and Utah, focuses on the inclusion of diaspora and local international voices in programming. Hagir Elsheikh and Dr. Palina Louangketh will highlight strategies for broadening audience engagement by incorporating diverse perspectives, with practical examples shared by the facilitators. Councils will learn how to create more inclusive and representative programming, ensuring sustained participation from new and diverse communities.” ~ WACA Thank you again, WACA and Utah Global Diplomacy, for this special invitation.
