✍️:”What resources or support are offered to parents returning from leave? This population is often most at risk for dramatic impacts on their career upon having children. How [should a business] prepare managers, the [company], and the employee taking leave to be away from the workplace for an extended period of time and subsequently reintegrate?” If there's someone on your team who is returning from parental leave, here's a tip: ditch your assumptions. In this week's episode, working parent advocate Lori Mihalich-Levin talks to us about why that's important. On the show, we also discuss what colleagues can do to support each other and how new parents can plan their own re-entry. Everyone’s journey back to work is going to be different, but the more support we have, the better it’s going to go! 🎧 Listen to episode 11 of Still at Work wherever you get your podcasts or click the link here: https://lnkd.in/eu279z6F 📲 Subscribe, rate and leave us a review on Apple Podcasts ❓Need advice on navigating the workplace? Setting goals is a bit like Goldilocks searching for the perfect chair: too broad, and your progress becomes impossible to measure; too specific, and you risk losing people’s interest. The key is to aim for goals that are just right. But what does “just right” look like in practice? Enter John McArthur, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at The Brookings Institution and Co-founder of the 17 Rooms Initiative. His expertise in developing and tracking Sustainable Development Goals is, well, goals, as he works to address some of the world’s biggest challenges. By the end of this episode, you’ll not only learn how to set impactful goals for your organization but also gain strategies for navigating setbacks when goals fall short. 🎧: https://lnkd.in/ebNGwMWC Special thanks to the team who made this episode happen: 🎙️ Hosts: Jeffrey Walker and English Sall 👋 Guest: John McArthur, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at The Brookings Institution and Co-founder of the 17 Rooms Initiative 🎥 Producer: Hueman Group Media 🤝 Partners: Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, New Profit, Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Echoing Green, Maverick Collective by PSI, Virgin Unite, Synergos , Forward Global, NEXUS Global, Boldly Go Philanthropy, Skoll Foundation, and The Aspen Institute

When thinking about your next big idea or what our future holds, do you instinctively imagine all the reasons it will fail? Our latest guest, Reverend Jim Blake, CEO of Unity World Headquarters, will encourage you to move past fear and instead think about all the ways your ideas can be successful.
