We bring the best non-alcoholic beverages in existence to the sober- & sober curious so we can celebrate without limits.

About us

Founded in 2021, Nolo was the first non-alcoholic bottleshop in the Southeast USA, and Western North Carolina's finest. Nolo was built to create more diversity in choice and inclusion for all in how we socialize. Nolo's mission is to bring together the best selection of newest, most delicious non-alcoholic products in the world to support the sober- and sober-curious community. Nolo's brick and mortar store - and inventory - was lost to the "biblical" flooding of Hurricane Helene. We're in the process of rebuilding now with the community's help. And we are excited for Nolo's "What's Next" as we rebuild. There's an expansive, delicious world of non-alcoholic adult beverages out there. Nolo is here to help our customers get to know them, build their best booze-free bar, and celebrate without limits. Drink Well.

  • 🍻 CHEERS to N/ATION Beer Media for having Jen & Jason on the podcast to talk Nolo ... now and what's next after Hurricane Helene. One of the greatest silver linings of the storm is experiencing the support and generosity of the community, our customers, and our fellow Western North Carolina-based businesses. We also covered some thoughts on when to (or whether to) visit Western North Carolina and how to support the region from afar. Together, with local and regional support, Western North Carolina will emerge stronger, more resilient....and in the interim, Nolo, like so many other businesses, are expanding our agility as we navigate complete and unexpected interruption of our business plans. Rather than focus on how daunting that can be, we're chalking it up as an opportunity. CHEERS again to host Jon Eggleton for the partnership and support! Next time, it'll be a happier discussion ... and let's do it in the mountains. 🍻

Hurricane Helene struck the community in and around Asheville, North Carolina in late September as a generational storm. The mountain community has begun the hard work of recovery, which by all measures will be a years-long effort. Like many of their artist neighbors in the River Arts District, the city's non-alcoholic bottle shop Nolo was not spared. In our latest U.S. of NA podcast episode, we sit down with owners Jen Phillips and Jason Phillips, who had only recently acquired the Southeast's very first NA bottle shop, initially founded in 2021. We discuss what the past month or so has looked like for them, the surrounding community, and where they go from here. While the storm dealt them a significant blow, they are determined to continue serving the sober and mindful drinking community of WNC, as well as the many tourists who visit the area annually. The downtown area was largely spared, and has already begun to re-open its doors. Listen to the episode at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts, or find the link in the comments below. Ways to help both Nolo and the broader Asheville community can be found in the show notes. #nonalcoholicdrinks #asheville #828isgreat #hurricanehelene #moderationnation

  • Thanks to our local pickup destinations Blue Ridge Hiking Co and Claywood restaurant, Nolo is offering shop online for scheduled pickup in Western North Carolina. Our store is (nearly) stocked full of the most exciting non-alcoholic adult beverages in the world (yes, we mean that), thanks in large part to the generosity of the incredible brands we carry. More to come on how they've played a huge part in our rebuilding plan in future posts. Online sales with local pickup represents a huge milestone in our recovery plan following the devastation of Hurricane Helene. And we couldn't have done it without these incredible partners. If you're local to the Asheville area, or plan to visit, give these fine businesses a follow and your business - you'll be better for the experience.
