GHBA is the voice of Houston’s residential construction and remodeling industry.
About us
The mission of the Greater Houston Builders Association is to provide advocacy, education and meaningful services to benefit its members and the housing industry. Chartered in 1941, the Greater Houston Builders Association is a trade organization whose members are involved in the development, homebuilding, and remodeling industry in seven counties. The association interacts with the government, community and general public to enhance the business climate for its members, and to provide quality obtainable housing to the community it serves. The association is also active in community outreach and charitable events. The Houston region continues to lead the nation in new housing starts. Although starts are down from the all time highs of a few years ago, values have held and we are positioned to bounce back more quickly with affordable, quality homes than any other major metropolitan area. The third largest association in the country, GHBA’s 1,600+ member companies represent more than 60,000 full time jobs. The local homebuilding industry generates about $3 billion in wages, taxes, fees, and other revenue to the local economy.

The GHBA Associate Council wrapped up another year of the GHBA’s longest-standing holiday tradition, the Frank Aranza Adopt-A-Family Project under the leadership of AC President Jeremy Linzer! Thanks to the generosity of our members, 40 families in need received gifts, household necessities and plenty of holiday cheer this year in partnership with the Houston Housing Authority. Thank you to each of our members who contributed this year and all the years prior! Through its 30+ history, GHBA members have contributed about $100,000 in gifts to local families who need it the most during the holiday season. A special thank you goes to our sponsors French Inspection & Construction Services, JEFF PAUL CUSTOM HOMES, LTD., META Planning + Design LLC and Thorntree Slate & Marble, as well as GHBA Northern Counties Builders and Developers Division board member, Pat Wilson with Legends Architectural Stone for playing Santa! Lastly, we’d like to give special thanks to everyone who donated gift cards to HomeAid Houston agencies. Together, we made the season brighter for those who needed it most! 🎁✨

🌟 Meet Steven Guillory, Business Development Manager at Monarch Landscape Management, our featured member for #MembershipMonday 🏡 Here's a peek into his journey: 🏠 How he got his start in the industry: Steven has been in the industry for eight years. After a medical retirement from the military, he attended Sam Houston State University. During a job fair, he connected with a former special forces operator who was seeking a production manager for a landscaping company—and that opportunity marked the start of his career in this field. 👷 GHBA: Steven has been a member since April 2024. When someone in the industry asked him if he was attending the Northern Counties Builders and Developers Division Clay Shoot, he realized the GHBA would be a great way to meet and network with developers. Steven enjoys attending GHBA events and has attended YP events. 💖 Passions: Steven says he has an amazing wife who is a first-grade teacher, and together, they have three young boys. You can most likely find them on the golf course, enjoying the lake house or beach or hunting whatever game species happens to be in season. They stay busy, he says! 🏠 GHBA’s Impact: “The GHBA has been a great organization for networking. The events are numerous and well-organized,” Steven said. “I joined to meet more folks in this industry’s space and GHBA has allowed me to do just that.”
