THE BIGGEST HOLIDAY SELLING MISTAKE? Selling during holiday ‘dead zones.’ (You know – the days when prospects stop showing up to meetings.)_ You might be wondering: What days are those? Spoiler alert: It’s the week of any major holiday. We analyzed over 400K sales interactions to see when sellers are most (and least) likely to get a deal signed during the holiday season. We looked at holidays such as: Diwali, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. The results? Sign rates drop by 38% the week of any major holiday. And 78% the week of Christmas! So next week, get a jump on those deals. It’s how you’ll beat the holiday slowdown and end the year on the right side of quota.

SOCIAL PROOF KILLS DEALS According to Gong Labs, social proof can decrease close rates by 22%. (When used incorrectly.) Instead, tell a targeted customer story. One where the buyer can picture themselves in your customer’s shoes. If you can describe the buyer’s problem better than they can themselves, they will automatically assume you have the best solution. Don’t data dump the results another customer achieved. Focus on the “problem” part of the story. You need to do both to win.
