I have to give a huge shoutout to our friends at Flightcontrol (https://lnkd.in/ee4ZW-Ka). As a small team that's moving insanely fast, we rely on our tooling, our partners, and our platforms to get things out of our way so we can spend 99% of our time delivering value to the school districts and other organizations that we serve. Brandon Bayer and Mina A. and the team consistently overdeliver. We've used their platform for the past 18 months and it's become a foundational element to our infrastructure and deployment pipelines that we trust and can rely on to help us move quickly. Their customer support is top notch and unmatched by almost any other partner I've worked with in the past - always quick to respond and overdelivering. Super grateful for you guys - check them out if you're looking to streamline your AWS management.

🔥 ANNOUNCING Flightcontrol V3 🔥 Unveiling our true identity as a Platform-as-a-Service There are many PaaS, but none as reliable, customizable, and affordable at scale as Flightcontrol ✨ 🎒 We abhor one-size-fits-all thinking and overly prescriptive solutions. Our product enables you to take responsibility for critical decisions instead of us ushering you into The One True Way™️ 🤝 We treat our customers right. And not just right, we go above and beyond to make you as successful as possible. 🌱 We thrive on sustainability. We are now long-term sustainable and do not need any more funding to continue thriving and growing! 🔎 We operate with utmost fairness and transparency. We'll never force you into an enterprise plan based on some unexpected usage that was too hard for you to estimate. V3 IS A HUGE IMPROVEMENT Deploy your apps with: 🏎️ 2-6x faster builds than every other PaaS with brand new build system!! 🤑 50-75% cheaper compute at scale than other PaaS with new ECS+EC2 support (unlocks ability to save even more with Reserved Instance pricing) 👾 now serving AI & video workloads with GPU support 🫣 new private web services not exposed to internet ✈️ scale further with server sizes up to 24,000 GB of RAM 🗿 near perfect reliability because we use native AWS infra w/o custom layers 🧘♀️ utmost flexibility because it deploys to your AWS where you can customize or integrate anything, should the need arise 💰 use your AWS credits to pay for infra AND Flightcontrol, because we are now on AWS marketplace! HOW IS ALL THIS POSSIBLE? You get all this in exchange for taking 1 minute to create & connect an AWS account (really, it’s not hard!) Our bring-your-own AWS model enables us to leap-frog traditional PaaS on almost every metric. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel like other PaaS. We let AWS do what it’s best at, and that frees us to invest everything in DX and features. We don't have millions of free users, so we can focus on providing a high level of support to our paying customers. DOES AWS STRIKE FEAR IN YOUR HEART? Fear not, we guarantee support for ALL the AWS stuff we manage. We handle it all for you, like any other PaaS. And with strict compute controls, you don't have to worry about run away costs. WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO? Lambda y'all!!! Our next big project is Lambda support for serverless web deployments and event processing. Soon you'll be able to manage and deploy both servers and serverless from a single platform ✨ And we are on Product Hunt today! P.S. Flightcontrol is not for you if you want totally free or ultra low cost infra. We are currently optimized for scalable production applications.

You can now save 50-75% on your server costs by switching from Render or Railway to Flightcontrol You get tremendous price, performance, and reliability benefits for the small effort of creating your own AWS account. The biggest cost savings come by using reserved instances (you can sell them before they expire, if you need). And Flightcontrol's pricing model sets you up to scale forever without the ballooning cost of traditional PaaS.

Introducing RBAC, SSO, 2FA enforcement, and new low cost plan! New low cost Starter plan We heard your feedback that our pricing was a bit too much to start out. So we've introduced a new starter plan at $49/month. Also added detailed AWS costs to the pricing page. SSO login via Google & GitHub Accounts created with email/password can switch to Google/GitHub login by enabling them in the Credentials tab in your Flightcontrol organization settings. Once enabled, email/password login will be disabled for your Flightcontrol organization. 2FA Enforcement You can now enforce 2FA for your organization by enabling sign in via Google or GitHub and turning on 2FA for those accounts if they aren't already. Role based access control We now have full role based access control! You can change user's roles in your Flightcontrol organization settings under the Members tab SOC 2 Type II in progress We are actively working on SOC 2 Type II, and we should have this report later this year! What to look forward to 🏎️ ECS+EC2 support is in private preview and will soon be in public preview. This enables significant cost savings, GPU support, and customizing the instance type. 🔥 Record breaking build speeds have been achieved internally! We're working on a new build system, and are already dogfooding it ourselves. We are seeing 2x or greater build speeds. Stay tuned! ---- Try these out, and if you have any issues or questions, let us know!
