Last week EWI hosted an engaging Workshop on Hydrogen Gas and Composite Pipes in Houston, TX. Senior Technology Leaders Jeff Ellis and Joshua James discussed the latest findings from a PHMSA-sponsored study, "Investigating the Integrity Impacts of Hydrogen Gas on Composite/Multi-Layered Pipe," and explored critical gaps that need attention with workshop attendees. The presentation slide deck will be available after PHMSA grants permission. Please reach out to Jeff Ellis at [email protected] with questions. #hydrogen #hydrogeneconomy #compositepipe #composites #pipelines

Can coatings reduce hydrogen embrittlement in transport #pipelines? Extensive testing of pipeline materials exposed to high-pressure #hydrogen is crucial for safety and reliability. EWI engineers Jesse Rhodes, P.E., Tom McGaughy, and Joshua James recently tested coated and uncoated pipe materials to assess the impact of high-pressure hydrogen. Read about the findings in the Winter 2024 issue of WELD magazine. https://lnkd.in/g2NnXU_4
