1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ........... Rejection ❌ This week, I successfully closed a Retained Project Director role for a multi-million-dollar project. How many interviews did it take? Three. • 1st: HR & Country Manager • 2nd: Division Lead & Country Manager • 3rd: CEO Simple. Structured. Straight to the point. - Process to 6 weeks from Commencing Search to Offer Acceptance ✔️ Now someone please explain why it took seven interviews to reject a Financial Analyst candidate recently? 15+ Years in recruitment I still struggle to understand why some recruitment processes drag on with endless rounds. I get the need for precision, careful vetting, and aligning stakeholders, but exceeding 4 interviews for any role? That’s a process problem, not a precision strategy. Here’s my issue: • Time delays frustrate candidates 👋 • The best talent walks away. 🚶➡️ (More than ever, War On Talent Is Real) • It reflects poorly on your organization. 👎 Recruitment doesn’t need to be this overcomplicated to be thorough. Three interviews for a high-stakes PD role prove it can be done. Happy to have a conversation with anyone in HR or recruitment who wants to discuss streamlining recruitment processes. We all share the same goal - FINDING THE BEST TALENT 🏆 Am I missing something, or are some recruitment processes just unnecessarily longer than needs be?

Monday Thoughts?💭 Are we losing the ability to have real human conversations? Recent dialogue with a new client who approached me on recommendation: 💬 Client: “Hello Deji, we have been searching for 3 months and haven’t found a suitable candidate. Can you help?” 💬 Me: “Great, can we set up a call—preferably a video call—to discuss the vacancy in more detail?” 💬 Client: “Sorry, but I prefer email communication. Can we keep the dialogue to email?” 💬 Me: “Unfortunately, this is not how I like to work. I believe in partnerships and place strong value on real human interaction.” Sometimes, the way we work is just as important as the results we deliver. For me, recruitment is about building relationships and having meaningful conversations—because that’s how we find not just a candidate, but the right candidate. When we commit to working together, it’s not just a transaction; it’s a collaboration. Real human interaction allows us to understand each other’s needs, build trust, and achieve results that are worth the wait. After all, we’re in the people business, aren’t we?
