Change is coming courtesy of the NMFTA, and EMPIRE, a KODIS Company is fully prepared to smoothly lead our sector of the LTL industry through this process. In Q1 of 2025, a phased approach will begin in order to modernize and simplify the way LTL cargo is classified. Notably, where there aren't any issues of special handling, stowability, or liability, the NMFC will provide a standardized density scale for LTL freight; where there are those extra needs, unique identifiers will be used. Commodity listings will be condensed and updated, and ClassIT will get a user upgrade too.
