The dedication and passion of the open source community never ceases to amaze. While corporations leverage significant budgets to sponsor events, open source projects like Postgres rely on limited resources. Yet, Postgres thrives, hosting 2-3 conferences globally every month—often surpassing the impact of corporate-sponsored events. That's the power of open source. That's the power of Postgres. Open source communities empower independent teams to collaborate and thrive. This same empowerment allows Postgres to develop software that rivals (and often exceeds) what billion-dollar companies produce. This week, we saw empowerment in action when Emma Saroyan formed the Armenia PostgreSQL User Group and invited EDB Vice President, Postgres Evangelist Bruce Momjian to speak at the inaugural meetup. Bruce's talk focused on two key factors driving Postgres' success: 1️⃣ Extensibility to handle today's workloads. 2️⃣ The efficiency of the open source development model. More than 30 attendees engaged in discussions about making Postgres central to their data centers. Thanks to everyone who attended the inaugural Armenia PostgreSQL User Group meetup. EDB is proud to be a sponsor for this event, and we are committed to building the future of Postgres alongside the vibrant open source community. #PostgreSQL #JustSolveItWithPostgres #EDBPostgresAI #OpenSourceInnovation #DevOps #opensource #Postgres #EDBPostgresAI #data #AI #database #DBA #opensource
