We are a food and farms marketspace. Their markets provide a direct connection to vendors with deep roots in Oregon and Washington including farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood providers, cheese makers and specialty food processors. Adapting to climate change includes community preparedness through collaboration. The City of Hoonah is collaborating with the local Tribal government through the Hoonah Native Forest Partnership to install complex weather stations that will measure snowpack, rainfall, soil moisture, and temperature in the Gartina Watershed-- where the community gets 100% of its municipal water supply and 30% of its hydropower. This information is important so that the City can better prepare and respond to changes in rainfall and snowpack for drinking water, and hydroelectric energy supply. Climate responsiveness and adaptation will require strong collaboration, including between city and Tribal governments in Southeast Alaska.
