The historic heart and modern-day pulse of San Francisco | The CBD serving Jackson Square & the Financial District.
About us
Downtown SF Partnership is the newest Community Benefit District in San Francisco and was formed in January 2020. Developed by a coalition of property and business owners, the District includes two of the oldest continuous business districts in the City (Financial District and Jackson Square) and funds special benefit services over and above what the City already provides including cleaning and safety services, mobility management, public realm improvements and beautification, and marketing. OUR MISSION We lead the way in building a thriving downtown where business gets done, people feel welcome, come to explore, and make memories. We’re a nonprofit community benefit district working to enhance the downtown core, the traditional Financial District and historic Jackson Square through public/private partnerships, placemaking, activating the public realm, clean and safe operations, marketing support and more. OUR VISION Downtown San Francisco is The City's economic powerhouse and historic core, continually redefining what makes our city vibrant, resilient, and welcoming. OUR VALUES Collaborative -- We harness the power of partners; the most enduring innovative and nuanced solutions are when partners work together, building long-term solutions around a common goal. Entrepreneurial -- Our spirit and a way of doing things that leans into being nimble, pivoting quickly, and taking calculated risks to advance or defend innovative ideas. Impactful -- We're strategic and thoughtful in our work and leverage opportunities that amplify our work and lead to substantive changes for the District. Curiosity -- We know what's authentic and distinctive about our downtown and we celebrate it.

What an incredible holiday season we're having in the East Cut and in the larger Downtown San Francisco. Let's Glow SF concluded yesterday after a stellar 10-day run. It's the perfect place for a project like this that is at the intersection of art, technology, and community. That community is two-fold, made up of makers and audience. The mesmerizing artwork pictured here is Nexus Dream by Studio DAAO: Anne sophie Acomat and Jérémie BELLOT, Transformation by Jacob Stephens, and Lightscape by Yann Nguema. "Makers" here also includes the joint organizational work it takes to pull off the largest projection mapping display in the country. We're extending a huge thank you to our friends at Downtown SF Partnership for including our neighborhood in Let's Glow 2024. We look forward to continuing to work with them and Yerba Buena Partnership on many more community-building projects as we all work to build on our vision for Downtown San Francisco. And of course, the audience--the people from all over the city and the larger Bay Area who visited and gathered with friends, family, and strangers to share in an experience together. This is what our city and our purpose is all about, and we can't wait to create even more such opportunities in the New Year. #LetsGlowSF #DowntownSanFrancisco #CommunityBuilding

🚦 San Francisco: #1 in Urban Mobility Readiness! 🚦 According to a new study by the Oliver Wyman Forum and University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco has achieved the top spot on the 2024 Urban Mobility Readiness Index! 🥇 This recognition highlights the city’s leadership in adopting cutting-edge technologies and innovative urban planning. Contributing factors include: - 🚕 Early adoption of robo-taxis - 💰 $40M investment in affordable housing and facilities near transit - 🚗 Innovations in AVs and EV charging infrastructure - 🌱 Government-backed efforts to reduce carbon emissions and optimize traffic flow As the transit hub for the Bay Area, Downtown San Francisco—and our District—play a critical role in this success. Our economic development team has been closely tracking transit recovery, recognizing that our robust infrastructure and forward-thinking transit innovations are among our greatest strengths. Read more about the index in the Bloomberg CityLab article below.
