Paul Ramsey has a new Postgres extension that connects the database to the OpenAI API. This helps you connect models like OpenAI or Ollama to work in #PostgreSQL. The main functions in the API extension are: • openai.prompt: Here you can set up context and then pass in a starting prompt for the model, which returns text directly back to you. This is super handy for doing sentiment analytics or other text based AI work directly against a model. • openai.vector: For use with embedding models (Ollama, OpenAI) only, returns a JSON-formatted float array suitable for direct input into pgvector. This is handy for getting data directly into pgvector from models via API (without a lot of extra code). See more on our blog: https://lnkd.in/ggKxu2Je
