We're excited to share that Conexus Indiana has been selected as #CEMETS #iLabIndiana's industry talent association for advanced manufacturing and logistics and has been awarded a grant by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation to enable this work. Unlike traditional approaches, the iLab Indiana pathway places employers at the forefront of workforce development. As the AML talent association, we will lead the charge to develop a professional education and training pathway through true collaboration between education and employers. Our first charge? To form an industry steering committee to help us identify workforce needs, shape the curriculum and establish and sustainable model for talent development. We’re excited to announce the next steps toward building Indiana’s new apprenticeship pathway! In September, the #CEMETS #iLabIndiana strategic plan identified BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, and Indiana Bankers Association as the organizations best positioned to form talent associations in four industries facing projected talent shortfalls. Today, the Fairbanks Foundation is pleased to announce it has awarded grants to fund the creation of talent associations in healthcare, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing and logistics! The Fairbanks Foundation expects to award a similar grant for a banking talent association in early 2025. These new associations will create professional pathways rooted in a youth apprenticeship experience that combines classroom education with on-the-job learning. Additionally, the Foundation is awarding $425,000 to CES Chair of Education Systems for continued consulting and technical assistance.
