Cheers to a memorable Octoberfest party at prAna HQ hosted by the Product Development Team. The onsite event had many highlights including an intense team pretzel-eating contest, beer guessing game, and an impressive (also very competitive) holts beer-holding challenge! A big shout out to Hector and Cele, who served up delicious German fare right off the grill. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event another successful moment of connection for the prAna team! #prAnaCulture #Octoberfest #TeamBuilding #LifeAtprAna #LifeatCSC

This fall, Club 1938, our China team’s outdoor-focused program, had their second offsite activity of the year. Over 100 club members across three offices participated in a half-day offsite activity with a variety of outdoor experiences. Activities ranged from indoor to outdoor, from Shanghai, Beijing to Guangzhou and from a city walk, urban hike to nature exploration. #LifeatCSC

For the first time in years, the Global HR & Corporate Affairs team gathered in Portland, Oregon to spend nearly a week together. As one HR, the team spent time learning, collaborating on solutions, and enjoying time outdoors. It was a limited but impactful time spent together strengthening bonds across our brands and regions. Thank you to the team that organized the summit, the HR team members who participated, and the guests we had along the way! #LifeatCSC

Another Mountain Hardwear employee outing in the books! Kudos to the team for getting outside, reaching outside their comfort zones and putting their own products to the test.
Another employee outing in the books! This year, Daniel McClain, Senior Product Operations Manager, and Diane Payes-Parks, Brand Employee Experience Coordinator, organized a climbing trip in Red Rock Canyon, outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. MHW employees had the opportunity to apply, and a total of 12 from all sides of the business were accepted to go. As outdoor people, we know a lot about equipment, but we don’t assume to know it all. We like to get outside as much as possible, test our product, challenge ourselves, and stay connected to the outdoor joy and friends that led us into this field. Thanks to MHW Team Athlete Kyra Condie and The Mountain Guides for supporting our team as we push our comfort zones. Being a part of this community of climbers helps us nurture a feedback loop, where we can listen closely and iterate together to make products that work for all of us. Photos: Clayton Herrmann

Each year, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) recognize leaders in the textile industry who have made advances in their field. In a ceremony in Savannah, Georgia, AATCC awarded two of Columbia's very own technology pioneers for their significant contributions in developing new fabrications and technology. AATC awarded Haskell Beckham the Olney Medal for outstanding achievement in textile or polymer chemistry. Haskell, who is Vice President of Innovation, has made several advances for Columbia, including developing Omni-Heat Infinity and serving as a key technology partner on the successful mission to the Moon earlier this year. Woody Blackford, who is Chief Product Officer for the Columbia brand, received the Henry Millson Award for Invention from AATCC, which recognizes outstanding contributions to textile technology. Through this prestigious award, Woody was recognized for his work on developing solutions to keep people comfortable in the outdoors. Woody led the teams that developed Omni-Heat Reflective, Omni-Freeze ZERO, Omni-Shade Sun Deflector, and OutDry Extreme. Congratulations to Haskell and Woody, and thank you for everything you’ve done to make Columbia the innovation leader in the outdoors! #lifeatcsc

Our office in India participated in a two-day retreat at Grande Bay Resort, located along the scenic Bay of Bengal in Mahabalipuram. Over the two days, employees broke out into four teams and competed in active outdoor games, engaging thought sessions, and creative ways of connecting. The retreat was a great way to bring the office together to live out some of our core values of enjoying an active lifestyle, competing to win, and creating a culture of honesty, respect, and trust through shared experiences. Thank you to the employees who worked hard behind the scenes to organize the event and to everyone who participated, making it possible for the team to strengthen their bonds. #LifeatCSC

prAna's “Green Team”(Sustainability), hosted a clothing swap and natural dye workshop at their HQ. It was a hands-on experience that taught employees how to dye and encouraged them to extend the life of their clothes. The event highlighted prAna’s commitment to sustainability and gave employees a chance to connect as a team, share some laughs, and learn together. This event was a great reminder that small actions can make a big impact! #LifeatCSC

The Product Integrity team held an in-person summit at our Portland HQ office for the first time in roughly 5 years. This team is an essential part of our business, as they ensure that our consumers are receiving high-quality products to pursue their passions – whatever that may be. Employees and partners from our family of brands and partners from El Salvador, China, India, and Vietnam joined in person as the team worked together to “redefine the basics to elevate the product” as one of our prAna employees put it. From tours of the office to exploring the Columbia River Gorge, it was a week spent focusing on aligning as one global team, enhancing processes, and elevating relationships between cross-functional partners. #lifeatcsc
