✨ Over the past 1.5 years of running Climate Vine (and 4 (!) years of building in the climate space), I’ve learned a TON. These are the top 3 learnings on my mind today ⬇
1. Climate is different than other sectors👨🎤 In some ways it’s more accurate to call this sector a new economy instead of an industry. For this reason, it requires unique understandings of financing, science, organizing, and leadership.
2. Climate moves quickly 🏎 Speakers and members alike share niche policy changes that affect new tech, go deep on entire sectors are born out of new innovations and needs in a rapidly changing world, and identify new lever points for problems that, when solved for, can make an outsized impact to our transition.
3. Bringing together diverse climate-committed folks in a thoughtful way is hard and SO rewarding 🔗 Through intentionally bringing together diverse folks, from climate activists to Fortune 500 leaders, philanthropists and scientists, we’ve seen new advisors and investment opportunities found, pitches honed, research and policy proposals shared, new jobs started and ideas expanded.
Along the way, we’ve reviewed thousands of applications, welcomed over 340 Members, run 100+ expert deep dives and member-led events, introduced folks through hundreds of curated connections, started dozens of mastermind groups, and hosted IRL events at major gatherings and local cafes alike 🎉
I’m beyond grateful to the speakers, members and general Climate Vine supporters who have helped us co-create this space. And grateful for their continued support: over half of the most recent cohort was referred by a speaker or member 🙏
We’re now welcoming applications for our next onboarding cohort on October 9th to help more members accelerate their impact through personalized mastermind groups, off-the-record conversations, and supportive collaborations 💥
