💰 $600 MILLION grant awards! 💰 The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations | U.S. Department of Energy has announced up to $1.8 billion in funding to accelerate the development of Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology under the Regional DAC Hubs program. This is a major step toward achieving commercial-scale DAC deployment and addressing legacy carbon emissions. 💨 🏭 This funding will support DAC projects at different stages of commercialization through three key topic areas:  1️⃣ Infrastructure Access Platforms (Topic Area 1): Funding 1-3 host sites where DAC developers can build and operate facilities with access to clean energy and shared CO2 storage or utilization partners. ‼️ Up to $250M per project ‼️ 2️⃣ Mid-Scale Commercial DAC Facilities (Topic Area 2): Supporting 4-8 facilities that capture between 2,000 and 25,000 tons of CO2 annually. ‼️Up to $50M per project‼️ 3️⃣ Large-Scale Commercial DAC Facilities (Topic Area 3): Funding 2-6 facilities capable of capturing at least 25,000 tons of CO2 per year. ‼️Up to $600M per project ‼️   📅 Deadlines: Concept Papers (for Topic Areas 2 & 3) and Pre-Applications (for Topic Area 1) are due by January 31, 2025, with full applications due by July 31, 2025. 💪 These are large and complex grants that are highly challenging to win without expert support––but Climate Finance Solutions has you covered! 💰 A $1.4 BILLION plan to expand zero-emission transportation infrastructure was approved by the California Energy Commission today! This investment plan will help develop, manufacture, and deploy infrastructure for light, medium, and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) across the state, largely in low-income and disadvantaged communities. 💰 $4 MILLION grant award 💰 Our team at Climate Finance Solutions is honored to have supported Nitricity in winning a $4 million grant from USDA under the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP), including by helping develop strategic community benefit partnerships. 🤝 🚜 Nitricity's innovative technology produces a non-petrochemical-based fertilizer by electrifying aqueous calcium nitrate, generating a clean, climate-smart product for farmers and growers. The facility expansion supported by the FPEP grant is expected to generate 20,000 tons of nitrate fertilizer annually. 🥬 🌅 We are looking forward to seeing this important project and technology come to fruition!
