Before the #ChristmasintheCreek fun continues this weekend, we’re sharing reminders for Saturday’s Holiday Parade! 📆 WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 14 parade begins at 9:30AM 📍 WHERE: St. James Ave, parade route starts from Old Moncks Corner Rd and ends on Marilyn St. ⚠️ ROAD CLOSURES begin at 6:30AM (Old Moncks Corner Rd). The highlighted red section closes at 7AM. 🚗 PARKING: Publix, Walmart Market, Food Lion, ALDI, and Planet Fitness are suggested lots to park in for the event. The entrances on the side of Highway 52 will be open to enter through! Whether you have plans to attend the parade or not, please be aware and patient as our GCPD work to get everyone back on the roads. #GooseCreekSC #creekrising

The cold never bothered us anyway 🤷 because the high today is 75°! We’re resharing this weather video because Goose Creek has been through it all this past week. (All we had to do was change the dates 😂) 🥶 South Carolina weather may not know of consistency, but we’ve got some winter tips for if & when temperatures drop again! ❄️ Know how to shut off water valves in case of a burst pipe. ❄️ Ensure your fireplace has a sturdy screen to contain sparks. Cool ashes before placing them in a metal container, kept at a safe distance from your home. ❄️ Check under your vehicles for stray animals when defrosting in the morning. ❄️ Let faucets drip slightly in cold weather to prevent freezing. #GooseCreekSC #creekrising #SCweather #moodyweather

☃️ Get ready to celebrate 2️⃣ years of Central Creek Park at Winter Wonderland, taking place Jan. 11 at 5pm! 📣 Local businesses and community groups are invited to enter the Goose Creek Cultural Art Commission’s SNOW CREATURES IN THE CREEK Contest! 🪧 Sponsor a 10 x 10 ft. space for $25 along the walking path at Central Creek Park (147 Old Moncks Corner Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445) and use your creativity to craft a scene of snow people or snow creatures with the best winter theme. ❄️ BASE SNOWMEN WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. All site selections are on a first come, first serve basis. Double sites are available for $50, but are limited. 🥹 Things we’re thankful for: a community who supports our unsung heroes. When Liam showed up to this year’s Halloween Carnival dressed up as a 🚮 sanitation employee, we had to invite him to our Public Works Department! 🚛 The crew gave Liam a tour of the facility, where he explored our sanitation fleet and received his very own Goose Creek Collection Truck. 🙏 Thank you to Liam and his family for supporting DPW and being longtime attendees of Goose Creek events.
