Last week, #BerkeleyCounty was proud to participate in and support the Evonik groundbreaking event at Bushy Park in Goose Creek. County Councilman Steve Davis served as one of the guest speakers. “Berkeley County is proud of its diverse industrial sector—one that is thriving and growing. Evonik’s expansion at Bushy Park in Goose Creek is a prime example of that success. We look forward to the company’s continued production in our community and the quality jobs that this project continues to create." -Berkeley County Supervisor Johnny Cribb Read more about the project here: https://bit.ly/4ewXCe1 #OneBerkeley

Berkeley County remains committed to partnering with organizations in our community to help end the opioid crisis in our area. It's a heartbreaking reality we've seen across our county, state and nation. Last month, Berkeley County Council approved approximately $1.2 million in opioid recovery funding for local organizations and agencies helping fight the opioid epidemic here at home. Our county's Grants Team recently visited these recipients, handing them checks in person and thanking them for the critical role they play in offering critical and life-saving resources for those struggling with opioid addiction. We look forward to seeing both the short- and long-term positive impacts their valuable work will produce in the community. Recipients included: Berkeley County Solicitor’s Office: $24,025 Changed Lives Ministry: $74,990 FAVOR Lowcountry: $86,647.95 WakeUp Carolina: $144,073 Kennedy Center Prevention: $151,570 Fair Haven Home for Men : $174,447 Berkeley County Coroner's Office: $175,000 Remnant House Outreach Ministry: $220,000 Funding stems from a $26 billion national opioid settlement from manufacturers, distributors and pharmacies involved in the opioid process. South Carolina is set to receive its settlement share of more than $360 million over the next 18 years and has setup the S.C. Opioid Recovery Fund through which to distribute these funds. #OneBerkeley #BerkeleyCounty
