The holiday season can bring with it a much-needed break from everyday life, with traditions once again enjoyed with loved ones. But it can also introduce its own stressors, or heartache, creating a set of mental health challenges that are unintendedly tied into what is meant to be a joyous time of year. Going beyond mere holiday-related apprehension, research has found holiday depression and holiday stress, sometimes called “the Christmas effect,” to be a very real occurrence. ✴️ Company News ✴️ BrainsWay announced recent positive pilot data from an independent, third-party study conducted at Stanford University evaluating an accelerated protocol using the Company’s #DeepTMS technology to treat alcohol use disorder patients. The outcomes were reported in a publication in the Brain Stimulation journal. Shortly following publication of the pilot study, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded approximately $1.5 million to the same research team to explore the efficacy of BrainsWay's proprietary Deep TMS system in treating substance use addictions, underscoring the possibility of utilizing Deep TMS as a noninvasive treatment modality within the broader addiction space. “Alcohol Use Disorder affects millions worldwide, leading to significant personal and societal challenges,” said CEO Hadar Levy. “Innovative treatments are crucial to support long-term recovery. We believe these promising preliminary results pave the way for further research into the potential benefits of treating AUD and other addictions with Deep TMS.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_xSrFtt #TMS #AUD #alcoholusedisorder
