Updates

  • Last Thursday, the BRAIN.Q team visited the Otef to honor the memory of those we lost on October 7 and reflect on our communities' resilience. At each site, we were reminded of the unimaginable pain endured and the strength that continues to shine through. We stand united with the families of the hostages, our brave soldiers, and all those affected. This visit was a moment to remember, reflect, and reaffirm our commitment to standing together as one. 🎗️

***A Week of Contrasts: Inspiration and Sobering Realities*** This week, I had the privilege of attending the World Economic Forum Innovator Community in NYC. Event was inspiring, filled with ambitious entrepreneurs and leaders sharing candid insights about transforming industries and creating impact. The sessions, featuring incredible individuals like Michael Baum, Anthony Scaramucci, Stephanie Ruhle, and Lynn Martin, reminded me of the opportunities that drive innovation and the stories of resilience that shape success. But at the same time, I couldn’t stop thinking about the night before, as I made my way to the Lotte Palace—one of the fanciest hotels in NYC, with a beautiful courtyard featuring a Christmas tree, dressed for a remarkable reception (Piper Sandler conference),just nearby, I came across over 200 people standing in a long line outside in the freezing December weather, waiting for a charitable meal distribution. A stark contrast to the elegance inside and a powerful reminder of the inequities we must address. Adding to this contrast, as we were sitting in the World Economic Forum (WEF) we learned of a tragic incident—a CEO of UnitedHealthcare was murdered nearby, allegedly by a frustrated patient denied care. This week left me inspired by what is possible, humbled by what others have achieved, and reminded me of the broken systems that hold us back. Let’s use our platforms, our ideas, and our collective drive to build a more equitable future. In pictures: Lotte Palace Christmas tree & WEF BRAIN.Q

Honored to deliver the closing presentation on new frontiers in stroke care at Medtronic Neurovascular's exclusive reception during the #SVIN conference. How do you discuss the next frontier with clinical and industry leaders who have transformed the landscape of stroke care over the past 30 years? Well—I pitched them 30 years into the future. I shared BRAIN.Q's vision for the next 30 years, highlighting the inevitable next big transformation in stroke care: focusing on providing life-changing therapies for stroke survivors as they navigate lives profoundly altered by the condition. I then discussed how AI and cloud technologies can revolutionize therapy, making it scalable and accessible in ways that were once unimaginable. I concluded with the heart of it all: ‘Inspiring hope’—for millions of patients and for us as a society, in how we honor and dignify life. How do you envision the future of stroke care evolving over the next 30 years? I'd love to hear your thoughts

***The past year, I learned about the kind of heroes I could truly believe exist. A week ago, Amir Salhuv, our CTO at BRAIN.Q, was injured in Lebanon when a bullet shattered nine bones in his left hand (and he’s left-handed). In the past year, Amir, a deputy battalion commander in reserve, has served more than 300 days. As CTO of BRAIN.Q, Amir has led our entire R&D and the technological deployment of our therapy across the U.S. for a national Phase 3 study aimed at reversing disability following stroke. This year, more than ever, we needed him. We needed him badly. BRAIN.Q is fighting to redefine chronic disease treatment and provide hope for millions. Amir was fighting to ensure a future of hope where our children in Israel can grow up safely. In this tension, our team had to step up for Amir and others and fill his shoes. Amir jumped on zoom every few weeks for important calls, and every few months for a few weeks before an instant call takes him back to another reserve duty cycle. We’ve learned to live with this unpredictability of him and others—we’ve had no choice. (And I can’t begin to express my admiration for his wife, Noa, and their children, who’ve been by his side for so long.) Amir was discharged from emergency care this Sunday. He’s facing intensive rehab and may need few surgeries to regain full use of his hand. Yet, just hours ago, Amir texted me saying he’d already taken a few calls today and plans to be in the office tomorrow to address some urgent gaps. (He can’t even drive, so he’s hitching a ride with a team member.) I can’t stop thinking about how extraordinary this is. Most people would take a few months off to focus on recovery before considering a return to work. But Amir is different. He’s an operator, he believes in our mission, and he’s a winner. The resilience, perseverance, and leadership that Amir and so many show make me incredibly proud of who we are and what we can achieve. Thank you Amir Salhuv . Good to have you back! Defying adversity. Inspiring hope.
