This clip from Elevate paints a stark picture: a lack of education can lead to a life behind bars and make sure you return. Without access to learning and growth, find themselves in a cycle that often ends in prison. It's a powerful reminder that knowledge isn't just power—it's literal freedom. Without it, the cycle can just continue. And in a lot of prisons, even make a profit from all the suffering. #EducationMatters #ElevateFilm #BreakTheCycle #KnowledgeIsPower

Here's a principle to always remember - when encountering a talented actor, be open to adapting your script. Willie Raysor embodies the character of Jeremiah in Forbidden Fruit. Originally intended for an older actor, his exceptional talent led us to revise the role's age and dialogue. His outstanding portrayal recently earned him the Best Actor accolade at the Socially Relevant Film Festival. Anticipating further successes and aiming to keep him on board as we progress with the full-length adaptation. This opportunity arises only when we are prepared to make changes for exceptional talent.

Film can create Change. The documentary Elevate stands as a testament to how film can actually create change. Elevate is more than mere observation of the men who've been involved in the criminal justice system. It's igniting local dialogue - creating space for conversations that are essential for growth and reform. These conversations will lead to tangible policy change. A shift in perspective, a new law, a step towards justice—all rippling from the impact of this film's creation. 🔗 To find out more about Elevate and the organizations involved. Last night Cord Jefferson brought the message that we all needed to hear. He reminded us all that storytelling is not exclusive to the big-budget blockbusters, but rather thrives in the quiet corners where courageous filmmakers dare to dream. Instead of the big swings of a large, expensive movie. We could create more movies with smaller budgets, human stories, and give more talented people a chance to show their voice to the world. That's what we're trying to do over here - break barriers and building platforms for new voices to emerge. Let's help create a future where every story finds its audience and every filmmaker gets a real chance. #CinemaForAll #NewVoices #TheBlendedFuture #OscarsInspiration

The Blended Future Project gave support to the amazing Dija Henry with her powerful short documentary "Elevate." Executive Produced by Alex LeMay, this film shines a light on the lives of three generations of men who have experience life in the prison system and are now forging a path for new beginnings. "Elevate" isn't just a story; it's a movement. It dives deep into the heart of what leads to crime and how we, as a community, can come together to find solutions. This film is sparking crucial conversations that create actual change. You can watch it here: https://lnkd.in/gzNk9K9v
