Today we announced Blackmagic Camera 9.2 update which adds support for the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor. This means you are able to use PYXIS Monitor with your Blackmagic PYXIS 6K with full touchscreen support and menu controls. In addition, this update adds support for remotely controlling Blackmagic PYXIS cameras using Blackmagic Camera for iOS. This means you are able to mount a Blackmagic PYXIS in a location that’s not easily accessible to monitor and control settings like focus, white balance, frame rate or shutter angle remotely using a phone or iPad. It also enables you to start and stop recording on a connected PYXIS camera and use it as part of a multi camera shoot! This update also changes the behavior of the lock switch on Blackmagic PYXIS cameras. When switched on, only the built in touchscreen will be locked, while the buttons below the screen and any attached external monitor, such as the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor, will still able to be used. This limits accidental changes to settings or interruptions to streaming. Blackmagic Camera 9.2 also adds lens correction data for L-Mount lenses to Blackmagic RAW files recorded with Blackmagic PYXIS 6K cameras. There is also improved battery life on Blackmagic PYXIS 6K models for longer run times and improved tethering compatibility with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models. This update also adds improved gyro accuracy on Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 which allows for better shot stabilization in DaVinci Resolve. Today we released Blackmagic Camera for iOS 2.2 which adds support for remotely controlling Blackmagic PYXIS cameras. This means you are able to mount a Blackmagic PYXIS in a location that’s not easily accessible to monitor and control settings like focus, white balance, frame rate or shutter angle remotely. It also enables you to start and stop recording on a connected PYXIS camera and use it as part of a multi camera shoot! This update also adds the ability to click and drag with your finger to select multiple media clips on the media tab, making the selection of multiple clips to upload or delete much faster. Blackmagic Camera also now supports two additional languages, German and Italian. In addition, this update also fixes an occasional issue where the image would be flipped if switching between front and back lenses when controlling a remote camera. The image now appears in the correct orientation. Blackmagic Camera for iOS 2.2 update is available now as a free download from https://lnkd.in/g6YQfAmH

Today we announced a new lower price for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K of US$995. This is a reduction of $300 which will help make this camera more affordable if you’re working on digital film, as well as live production with the new ATEM Mini switchers. The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has been popular as both a digital film camera and also a studio camera when used with ATEM Mini switchers. It has wide dynamic range for digital film and DaVinci Resolve color science, but it also has a color corrector built in, tally and remote control for live production. We have been working hard on our manufacturing processes and have lowered the cost of production even further, so we can now pass that on to people through the lower price. We think this is a fantastic solution to bring digital film quality to everyone! The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is available now from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide for only US$995.

Today we released Desktop Video 14.4 which improves compatibility between DeckLink IP and Blackmagic Design 2110 IP products, including SmartView 4K G3, Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G G3, Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters and Ethernet Switch 360P. With this update, any network disruptions while recording will be automatically detected, which means that capture will resume once the network connection is reestablished. Custom installation options are now also available for Windows, so you can choose which components, such as the DeckLink API or drivers, get installed on your computer. This makes it faster and easier for developers and OEM customers to install only what they need. Desktop Video 14.4 is available now as a free download from https://lnkd.in/g_hDiQm.

Today we launched some new features for Blackmagic Cloud. The cloud storage app has a new icon view that you can select at the top right of the window. It will show you thumbnail icons for your media files and you can scrub the thumbnails by moving the mouse over the icons to scroll through the clip. If you switch back to list view, the icons now reflect the media file's contents. This makes it much easier to see what's in your clips from Blackmagic Cloud. Most media has been converted to the image icons, however there is still some media being processed. Blackmagic Cloud supports generating thumbnail icons from a range of common media file formats. Any formats not yet supported will display generic icons. In addition, there is a new metadata panel on the right side of the Blackmagic Cloud storage app window. If you select the info icon on the top right, you can open up a tab to see the selected clip's metadata. There is also a view of the clip media that can be scrolled with the mouse. That's great when selecting clips in list view. A new feature in Blackmagic Cloud Presentations is the ability to invite anyone into a presentation with a URL. If you select to share a presentation with someone who is not a member of Blackmagic Cloud, then a URL will be generated that can be copied and pasted into an email. This is great when you want to share a presentation with a client, so you can collaborate and group chat with them. We have also localized the log in window for Blackmagic Cloud into German, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and Ukrainian. The updated version of Blackmagic Cloud is now available for all users at http://bmd.link/ittmc9

Today we announced Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive is now available to pre-order direct from Blackmagic Design offices worldwide for US$29,995. Delivery will start in late Q1 2025. This will let us work with initial customers to develop the post production pipeline with DaVinci Resolve and then Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive will be available via Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide, which we expect to be later in the year. We are excited to begin accepting orders for Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive, which is the world’s first commercial camera system designed to capture content for Apple Vision Pro and preview a true end-to-end workflow for Apple Immersive Video and DaVinci Resolve. An updated version of DaVinci Resolve Studio with new editing features for Apple Immersive Video will also be released early next year. As this workflow is very new, we are looking forward to working closely with initial URSA Cine Immersive filmmakers and production companies to refine the production workflow for Apple Immersive Video before releasing URSA Cine Immersive to a wider audience in 2025. Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive features a fixed, custom lens system pre-installed on the body and dual 8K sensors for stereoscopic 3D immersive image capture, which are designed specifically to capture Apple Immersive Video for Apple Vision Pro. The sensor delivers high resolution per eye with an incredible 16 stops of dynamic range, so cinematographers can shoot 90 fps 3D immersive cinema content to a single Blackmagic RAW file. The custom lens system is designed for URSA Cine’s large format image sensor with extremely accurate positional data that’s read and stored at time of manufacturing. This immersive lens data is mapped, calibrated and stored per eye, so it can then travel through post production in the Blackmagic RAW file itself. The new DaVinci Resolve Studio supporting immersive video will complete the workflow so filmmakers edit, color grade, and produce Apple Immersive Video shot on the URSA Cine Immersive camera for Apple Vision Pro. Key features include a new immersive video viewer, which will let editors pan, tilt, and roll clips for viewing on 2D monitors, or on Apple Vision Pro for an even more immersive editing experience. Additionally, transitions rendered by Apple Vision Pro will also be able to be bypassed using XML metadata, giving editors clean master files. To complete the workflow, export presets will enable quick output into a package which can be viewed directly on Apple Vision Pro. Learn more at http://bmd.link/gpw7H3

Today we released ATEM Switchers 9.6.3 update which is for all ATEM Advanced Panels and adds a new menu for controlling Blackmagic Design cameras directly from your panel. This means that you can now adjust settings such as iris, focus, black levels, master RGB and more from the camera control menu when previously, you would have needed to use ATEM Software Control or an extra camera control panel. With an increased number of user profiles from 10 to 100, you have much more flexibility when saving button mapping for individual users or different shows and will no longer need to overwrite existing profiles. ATEM Switchers 9.6.3 update is for all ATEM Advanced Panel models and is available now as a free download from http://bmd.link/C9wdWE

Today we released Blackmagic Camera for iOS 2.1.1 which adds support for improved colorspace tagging when recording with LUTs. That means your footage will now be correctly color space tagged and be accurately reproduced when playing back and grading your shots. This update also improves lock functionality on the white balance and shutter angle settings. Now when you lock these camera settings to a specific value they will remain fixed so you can’t accidentally change them during shooting. This ensures you will have consistent color and exposure throughout your shots. There is also more consistent representation of the shutter slider, focus peaking and zebra overlay values. This means when adjusting the shutter, the display will correctly show either the speed or angle slider value based on your selected measurement type. Similarly, when using iPhone 16 control to turn on or off peaking or zebra overlay, the state will now be correctly displayed on the screen. Today we released DaVinci Resolve 19.1.1 update which adds the ability to paste clips in the timeline at either the playhead or the in and out points. This gives you greater flexibility when applying your edits so you can choose the method that’s easiest for your workflow. When editing there’s also improved system stability for previewing clip transitions with FusionFX applied. Track controls are also now correctly displayed in the edit index, making it easier to select and disable tracks. For Fusion, when working with fisheye textures in the spheremap 3D tool, the effect will now render correctly, making it easier to work with materials and reflections. There is also greater stability when adding two point b-spline polygons so you can confidently create soft edge mattes. In addition, when reviewing the thumbnail timeline on the color page, spatial photos will now display more reliably so you can quickly see and select shots. For Fairlight, this update improves automation trim controls when playing your timeline so you can more consistently trim and adjust clips. Also, when importing AAFs with full clip fades, the start and end fade levels are now correctly applied so they will be accurately reproduced. In addition, for those using older operating systems there are a range of improvements. There’s better H.265 encoding on computers with older NVIDIA graphics cards, giving you smaller, higher quality renders. For those using Mac Sequoia 15.1 operating systems, H.265 multipass renders will now be accurately completed. There is also a new render option for MP4s on Windows 10 giving you greater compatibility with a wider range of older media players. Today we announced a dramatic price reduction for storage on Blackmagic Cloud! Until now the price has been USD$30 per TB per month, which might have reduced the number of people who could use Blackmagic Cloud services for global post production workflows. The new price has been cut by half and will be USD$15 per TB which should allow a lot more people to use cloud workflows. This reduction has been made possible by improvements in our data center backend and the Blackmagic Design engineers. We think this will allow more talented people to come together and create amazing television shows, feature films and online content, no matter where in the world they live! If you are currently using Blackmagic Cloud storage to sync media between cameras and DaVinci Resolve, then you will see your monthly payments reduced by half from today.
