On November 15, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas vacated the Biden administration’s overtime rule, which was set to raise the salary threshold for white-collar exemptions to $58,656 annually by January 2025. The court ruled that the increase was too steep and violated notice-and-comment period requirements. It also struck down automatic salary threshold increases every three years.
