Each December, Wreaths Across America places wreaths on the graves of fallen #servicemembers at Arlington National Cemetery and in cemeteries across the country. This is the fifth year Savage volunteers participated in donating and laying wreaths, including Driver Roger Harmon Jr. from Savage Auburn, ME who delivered 5,609 wreaths to 12 participating cemeteries. “Delivering wreaths was special for me because my dad was a disabled #veteran who served in the US Army, so when I found out about this, I was honored to participate,” said Roger. “The greetings I received and the nice people I met along the way made it even better.” Thank you to our Team Members who participated in organizing, delivering, and laying wreaths across the country! As an electrician and maintenance specialist at Bartlett's Jacksonville, IL grain facility, Rob Nichols oversees preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and keeping our equipment running smoothly. He’s been part of the #Bartlett team for more 11 years and says the journey has been “exceptional.” Rob loves working with our farmers, many of which are his personal friends. Two of his favorite moments with the company are: 1. Witnessing the commissioning of the Jacksonville facility. 2. Watching the first train pull into the facility. Outside of work, Rob belongs to a local #fishingclub, competes weekly in tournaments, and even on the national USA BASSIN circuit. Someday, he hopes to cross Peacock Bass fishing in Venezuela off his bucket list! #OSHA recently recognized Savage as a Beat the Heat winner for our efforts to keep Team Members safe in the summer heat!   Team Members submitted how they were watching out for and protecting others from the summer heat as part of the SH&E team's #BeattheHeatWeek this year. Two of these entries were submitted for the OSHA award: the cool-down station at Savage's Beaumont, TX operation and the air-conditioned tent at Bartlett Cherryvale, KS.
