🚀 At aiEDU we're proud to share our continued partnership the The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. 🚀 With the McGovern Foundation's support, we're able to fuel our mission of ensuring all students are ready to live, work, and thrive in a world where AI is everywhere. Our work builds on one of the McGovern Foundation's important principles: When artificial intelligence is developed with intention, it can create space for radical change. There's no place we see that promise more than in America's schools and we're grateful for the support to continue this important work. Today, we're proud to highlight our ongoing partnership with the McGovern Foundation, which will allow us to develop learning products to support learning about AI, build professional development for teachers and school administrators and explore other ways to build AI Literacy and cultivate AI Readiness in schools across the United States. Advancing AI Readiness for all students across America.
About us
The AI Education Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that creates equitable learning experiences that excite and empower students everywhere with AI literacy. We believe that everyone—especially those who are likely to be disproportionately impacted by AI systems—should have access to the conceptual knowledge and skills they need to thrive as workers, creators, consumers, and citizens. Our Theory of Change is centered on working directly with school districts to empower educators, schools, districts, and other education organizations with accessible curricula and learning resources that make it easy for any teacher to easily integrate learning experiences that spark curiosity and excitement about AI. We seek to make AI education a part of every single students’ education, and build curricula and professional development offerings that connect AI to core subjects in addition to Computer Science and Career & Technology Education — which breaks down barriers and bottlenecks at resource-strapped school districts.

Greg Toppo — I've enjoyed our phone calls, texts, and this interview over the past few weeks as we grappled with some of the big developments in the space. It's been fun, and I appreciate your super-informed lines of inquiry. To everyone else, if you aren't following Greg's reporting, you should be. His writeup on AI companions with Michelle Culver is also excellent.

We're proud to highlight more of our work in Ohio! As part of our work in the state, we've supported an updated AI toolkit and Policy Development Protocol published this week. One of the reasons that aiEDU.org’s partnership with Ohio stands out is its integrated approach and the longevity of the partnership. aiEDU began its work in Ohio with a pilot in Akron Public Schools in 2020. Since then, aiEDU has expanded to support students, teachers, and school administrators across the state. aiEDU.org is ready to build on our work in Ohio! 🚀🚀 Today we’re excited to share a grant from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and an ongoing partnership with the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) that will propel AI Literacy and AI Readiness across the state. This will work include continuing our deep work in the state, which began in May 2020 with a pilot program in Akron Public Schools . Since then, aiEDU has hosted numerous statewide summits for teachers and school system leaders. That work continues — along with additional professional development and work to build AI Readiness. 🚨📣🎉 2025 AI LITERACY DAY HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED 🎉📣🚨 — March 28, 2025. Save the date! aiEDU.org is a proud member of the steering committee for this historic second edition of the national movement we launched earlier this year. We're joined by the incredible teams at EDSAFE AI Alliance, The Tech Interactive, and Common Sense Media along with a rockstar group of advisors incl. Cynthia Breazeal, Amanda Bickerstaff, Isabelle Hau, Jason B. Allen, Nneka J. McGee, J.D., Ed.D., Pati Ruiz, Shana V. W., Tara N., and many other leaders in the space. I'll drop some links in the comments that you can use to stay in the loop and get involved, but the most important thing is to block the date and start thinking about how you can activate the educators and schools in your community to participate in this national moment for shared experience, curiosity and learning. P.S. — Check out our snazzy new logo, courtesy of the creative genius Alex Moulton 🙇♂️
