In my experience, lead gen resilience is about building a system for consistent wins. Focus on the process, not just results. Celebrate conversations and quality outreach, not just closes. Rejection is inevitable, but data is your guide. Track interactions as A/B tests to refine your approach and identify what resonates. Finally, self-care is fuel. Prioritize sleep, exercise, and activities that energize you for effective outreach. By focusing on consistent activity, data-driven decisions, and self-care, you'll build resilience to navigate the ups and downs of lead generation.

The biggest issue I see is that people set big goals and if they dont happen in a short amount of time, they get discouraged and try a different lead generation strategy. However, lead generation is more like farming than it is transactions like a vending machine. The key is to set a goal for direction and then use the data to see whats the baseline and then focus on just consistently going slightly above that. This will yield to a great growth curve and keep your mind grounded without freaking out about the gap, as you think you're failing whats possible vs improving on whats happening. Get out there and know there is momentum and a snowball effect :)

Depending on what the product is, you will need to build a pipeline with realistic results projections and take your own conversion rate into account. If you are historically a 40% closer, make sure you build a pipeline that reflects this. Obviously the more the merrier.

Lead gen is the stepping stone that launched my career into sales, so know first hand, it can be tough. There are days you just feel flat due to the knock backs. The key thing is to learn from each and every one of them, and evaluate the outcome and how you might behave differently next time around. Each knock back is an opportunity to learn something and from that comes growth, and from that the ability to create a strategy of how to achieve your goals. Lead gen isn't about throwing as much at something in the hope it will stick, doing the same thing every time. It's about focus, doing your homework in advance of any outbound approach and most importantly listening to the person who's been prepared to give up their time to talk to you.

Have a process and take the ego out of it. If you focus to much on your 'skill' then you will find it hard not to doubt yourself when times get tough. Instead have a process that you follow daily and no that it will bring returns. There are ups and downs in every walk of life but having set processes help to keep us on track.

Feedback from different areas , if you are not directly involved with the sales team ensure to connect with them atleast once a month to understand the quality of the leads. Ensure to hear customer’s perspective on competitor’s approach( provoke the sales team to get this info as you will not be facing the customer). In case you are a consultant have a discussion with the direct contact of yours on what’s the business budget allotted for that quarter and make your changes accordingly for investing your time and may be more resources accordingly

And don’t discount the traditional search to find contacts.
