Now Ask yourself: How can I map my skills/experiences to help the company to overcome their problems and create products,processes, strategies that would help them ensure long term success? Once you understand it, you'll find it much easier to tailor your CV's matching experiences and align it with your desired company. Numbers and metrics are indeed valuable, however it's essential to present these figures in line with company values, goals, and language.

There are a ton of free AI courses and certifications available online. Some can be completed in the matter of hours. Update your resume with these added skills to showcase your commitment to continuous learning. This indicates to employers that you're proactive about staying updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in AI. It can also provide differentiation and a competitive advantage to your application, and help you stand out in the application pool and grant you higher chances of landing an interview.

Current certifications are more interesting as you show off that you are doing continuous learning which is quite valuable when hiring. I am looking for advanced learning after formal education is finished.

While showcasing your work is crucial, a portfolio alone won't set you apart in today's competitive landscape. Recruiters crave context – the 'why' behind your projects. Craft a narrative that connects the dots between your experiences, thought processes, and the unique value you can bring to an organization. Aside from sharing your code and writing articles and blog posts, creating podcasts or YouTube videos is crucial. These showcase your passion for coding, ability to communicate complex ideas, and ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends. Ultimately, these activities can make you stand out during the hiring process and showcase your unique skills and expertise.

Another important thing to consider while applying for tech positions in the big companies is to be specific in your resume including only your background and experience in the position you're applying for.

In a professional setting, it's imperative to showcase your expertise by emphasizing experiences and projects you've actively engaged with. Craft a concise CSV (Curriculum Vitae) that highlights your key achievements, and complement it with a standout cover letter or a single-page profile showcasing your core competencies. I have a simplified system for my resume and the last time I used it, out of 15 places I sent it to, 11 of them responded. The most important thing in my resume is that it is like a short story. I start by telling them who I am in a short paragraph. Afterwards, what I know using key words. Then, I tell them how I know what I know and the tools I used while learning. While doing that, I also tell them how what I know has benefited me or my workplace. Furthermore, I have removed section naming. No "objective", "skills", or "experiences" sections. Like I said, more like a two page story with chapters rather than a rigid section based resume. I do have a section called educations though. That is because I don't want to mix that into my story.

NEVER pad your resume with false statements or embellished details. Your KSAs should stand on their own. However, that doesn't mean you should pass up the opportunity to craft the best resume you can with the use of AI tools. AI tools can transform your current resume, LinkedIn profile and the job posting into a new resume that is sure to get the hiring manager's attention.

Show companies how you have used AI with past work, how it can help that company. Its not about you being an AI expert, its that you can connect the dots with your skill set, and how AI can help you perform better, which gives the company performance boosts. Companies arent hiring you to be the "AI Person" - companies need specialists that understand how to infuse AI, conceptually.
